Elyria Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school located in Elyria, Ohio, 20 miles west of Cleveland. It is run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. Elyria Catholic was built in 1949 and since then has graduated more than 7,500 young men and women. A newly added physical education complex was completed in 2007 along with an economics lab. Elyria Catholic is the only Catholic high school found in Lorain County.

The school colors are forest green and white. The mascot is the Panther.
Elyria is a city of about 55,000 in Lorain County (population 304,000), and is located 25 miles west of Cleveland.

Elyria is the school that got a second chance last year after Regina was disqualified, then they got beat by Smithville by 28

Top players stats wise(both seniors)
#42 Ashley Schuster 12.6 ppg 10.1 rpg
#5 Emily Taylor 9.8 ppg 6.8 apg
They have about 4 girls averaging around 6 points per game.
Not a lot of players stick out other than the two above, but it looks like they play a lot of players.

The whole building is called Schottenstein Center while the actual "gym" is called Value City Arena. Same place just different names

Elyria Catholic is a far better draw in the state tourney than either Ft. Recovery or Anna who play each other. Anna is just scorching the nets now and I think they are the odds on favorite to win it all by most statewide fans. Hey, and guess what ? There's a 75% chance that DIII will have a public school champion. I think that's great odds.

I would agree with you that they are probably the favorite, but at this point the girls have to be thinking why not us? I mean you have an overtime 3 with 20 seconds to go to win and then in back to back games you get down 10 points and still find a way to win. Elyria Catholic is a good draw for us, and even Anna can have a bad shooting day.

I figured at the beginning of the season that Anna would be representing that region. They probably should have been their last year too. They are a very good team, but also beatable if they aren't hitting.

Does anyone know if there will be a live online video broadcast of the semi final and championship games?

First and most importantly Congrats to the Lady Oaks on getting to the State tournament!! Good luck on Friday! The whole team has worked hard to get here.

Now I have a question. I got into town about the time the bus was getting back after the game. I had a little one with me that loves the beeping and yelling so he was glad we had made it just in time. We only saw about 10 or 15 people sitting outside and 15 cars in line driving around. This seemed like a lot less people than in the past? These girls have worked hard and I understand that the town has been to state before, but it seems like there is a little less enthusiasim (sp?)?
