Eastern if Day can come back healthy, though that is a stretch unfortunately. At least she has a promising collegiate career in front of her.

Lynchburg lost too much.

Alexander I think will surprise people.

Yes, sorry. They bring back everybody from their 2 loss state qualifying team from a year ago. Hopefully, Day can get healthy.

Southeastern will be the top team out of the SVC, in D -3 , they lost 2 four year staters off a 23-2 team but do return their best player a Dayton signee and some nice size that will keep them competitive with most of the top teams in the Southeast district. I look for them to to have a nice season. No one will compete with Highland who will probably come into the regionals and represent at the Schott.

It will be interesting year in Division 3. The usual teams will be strong; Eastern Brown, Wheelersburg, Alexander, Southeastern, Fairland, Ironton, North Adams to mention a few.
However for the next 2 year only 2 teams from the Southeast District will advance to the Regionals in Division 3. In the Regionals will be 1 team from the East District and 1 from Central District. Berlin Hiland a D4 State Powerhouse moves up to Division 3 in the East District. Africentric and Johnstown are possible Central District to make the Regionals.

Looks like the Regional will be very strong whatever teams make to the Sweet 16.

With the new set up winning a Sectional Title this year will be very tough, it will almost be a District Title game from the years past. Berlin Highland is very tough, but there is a reason you play the game.
Seems that you all forget about
Minford, Ash Blankenship, 6'4" in the middle, and Erin Daniels (Ashland commit) will be a CO-POY candidate again (was in the mix last year IMO) , Marissa Risner can shoot the ball so you have to account for her

SE Ross will be the best team D3 Team in the SVC, Ella Skeens (Dayton commit) will see a lot more defensives geared to stop her, even more than last year. Someone on that team has to step up and be a proven scorer. Unioto may have something to say about TOP team in SVC.

Coal Grove will be one to watch out for with the addition of Lexi Hall( North Greenville commit). She will give them a kid that scores in various ways. Her and Emily Compliment at the guards give them a very big backcourt. Also they had a forward that worked hard when I seen them in June.

Alexander will still be tough with Rachael Richardson a flat out shooter and plays hard and McKenna Rice tough forward who works the glass and competes, but like most teams who becomes that 3rd option each night.

Wheelersburg will be very good defensively, lack of height will be their weakness, but they will defend you every night. Elle Ruby is a lockdown defender every night and Jr Abbey Kallner (SSU Commit) not only defends but can score the ball, they also have two freshmen that will help out a lot, also they had a 5'8"ish forward that was catching my eye at Wellston scrimmage.

Eastern Brown, their guard play improved all last season and came up big during their tourney run and you cant dismiss that. POY Allison Day (Loyola of Chicago commit) is out, but they still have 6'2" Makayla Farris and 6'1" A. Pennington (Eastern Kentucky commit) plus Sophomore guard Cameron Pickerill has benefited from the play during that tourney run.

Ironton will be a team to also watch out for, Lexi Wise at PG was playing well this summer, Lexi Arden the best Sophomore in our area has to show up every night, the addition of Freshmen Samantha Lafon, 5'11", F will help them inside, she is a big physical forward and plays hard.

North Adams is deep and will have some impact freshmen, Avery Harper (Rio commit) at 6'2 in the middle and Lakyn Hupp are a good combo, 5'10" Jr, Grace McDowell could be the key for them

Fairland returns everyone, will have the biggest lineup in the area, 3 6's, Allie Marshall is long and athletic, Alesha Simpson and Taylar Wilson are just a very solid combo in the lane and can score, Kelsie Warnock is a solid 2 guard that just does what it takes to win and Emily Chapman is a big time scorer with great range.

Others that need to see how they are playing coming into time: Meigs- Betzing looks like she is playing with confidence and Pullins is a nice shooter. Peebles- They will defend and freshmen Jaycee Justice can score the ball, they all shoot the ball well. Oak Hill, - Sophomore Caitlyn Brisker is a nice player who can score the ball. Nelsonville York - Senior Jesse Addis is a VERY good shooter, watched her play several times over the summer, she could cause issues if they are playing well come tourney time.

I watched probably 15-18 Southeastern games last year and half of those teams ran a triangle in 2 on Skeens, don't know what more they can do but watching SE District girls bb over the years it is hard to tell what they may see. They will struggle early , volleyball just ended Saturday and they should add 4 kids this week that will give them quality minutes. They will be competitive and at times could put a lineup on The floor that could be as big as the boys team. Should be a fun year.

I like North Adams team as one of the top in the district, they return a nice nucleus and have some size to go along with a good coach. They will also be tested in their league play with the like of Eastern and Lynchburg

Ironton will be as talented as anyone as well , they have some nice younger kids as well that will contribute.
I just have not seen the Minford team enough to comment
On how they will be this yearHave always heard about the Daniels girl but have only been able to catch her play with her travel team. I believe she played with Alexis Hall from Coal Grove too. Have to.make a trip to watch this team if time allows.

It'll be interesting to see how some of the younger girls have improved since last year. Will Skeens take over at the point? It's hard to imagine that many teams will be able to matchup with the size SE has. E. Skeens, Collins, DeLong, the other Skeens girl(can't remember her name) are all at 6' or taller. McKinley Mitten is a great athlete, and Skylar Hice is that player every successful team needs, she'll play a big part in how far this team goes.

Southern Ohio should be a little more evenly divided this year with several teams capable of making a run. I feel like some teams will gain experience with younger kids and be better toward the end of the season and some teams with upper classmen need to shine now. New additions to some teams via transfer may take time to gel but will definitely make an impact.
Fairland is experienced and looks to get over the district hump this year and should be considered a solid choice with Chapman leading the way. Not quite as deep as in the past but a solid experienced 5. Need more scoring options besides Chapman and it's time for someone else to step up and become that 2nd scorer. Well coached and a system team poised to make a run.

I think Minford could be the 2nd best team- Daniels is a do all type player who scores and makes everyone else better. Blankenship at 6'3 is a load inside-Risner can shoot with anyone-Puckett is an athletic player with some size-anxious to see how well they do. Minford does get outcoached in tight games but their 1st 4 players can match anyone in the area.

Ironton will be a tough out and is well coached. Doug doesn't get enough credit for his game planning and toughness of his teams- they play well In his system. Not quite what they've been in past but still solid. Arden could be best in area- Wise is athletic and defends well and transfer LaFon adds an inside presence and toughness to go with Doug's system. Points may be tough to come by. Teams will try to take Arden out and I'm not sure Wise can carry the offensive load. If they slow down game and play possession basketball they will be in any game.

Coal Grove I think is a team that can be really good or implode depending on how kids respond. Hall coming back gives them a nice scoring option to go with Compliment. If Crum and Dolen step up and McKnight plays well they could be a solid team. Big IF- let's let it play out.

Wheelersburg will be scrappy but young- Kallner and Ruby must carry the load but a few young players will be asked to step up and they could be solid by years end.

Chesapeake and my Pointers are 2 teams that can knock off anyone on any given night. Hall from C'Peake is a proven Sr and solid player but not sure Peake has any other scoring option that will be consistent. They will defend and slow games down to a crawl to keep them close and generally do a good job of winning ugly games.

Pointers Whitt and Carey can shoot with anyone and Kearns and Lawson are Seniors that can play and defend. Defensively we can put pressure on teams. Anxious to see how we gel as the season goes on. Could be a fun season!

God Bless all and may you have an injury free season!

Lynchburg lost a lot but Scott can play. I see them similar to Alexander.

Eastern Brown will also have senior guard Whitney Broughton...solid outside shooter that will be key for them against the better teams
