People bashing kids and teams, counting shot attempts, making excuses for playing with other 1000 point scorers , I would argue it would make it easier for a kid to score points if they had other threats the team had to guard. I would also bet most kids that have scored a thousand points shoot a very high field goal percentage and average under 14-16 shots a game. I say congrats to all that has accomplished it this year. Other than Stallings at Eastern in the early 90s I can't think of a kid going over a 1000 as a sophomore.
IMO maybe the 3rd best ever from SE Ohio...Jamie Lewis did....unless it was her soph year she injured knee but think it was jr year. She had 1700+ in 3 years

Better than Logan's Katie Smith??
national Gatorade National Player of the Year her HS senior season.
Scored 2500+ points at Ohio State
14 year WNBA career

------
Now let's steer this back on topic..... 1000pt scorers for the 2017-18 season.
two different eras son jenna burdette could have went to any college in the nation okay probably could of scored 5000 points in high school but didnt she is team first and jenna could easily get into the WNBA.
Just think if she would scored 5000 points she would have broke Ohio's all time record by almost 1500 points Why did she go to college instead straight to the pros

could have :?: and why not :?: ....5000 points is close to an average of 50 points a game if she played 4 years of high school ball.

Trying to get back on the subject....
Senior Lexi Smith scored her 1000th career point a couple weeks ago in a big 59-44 win over Eastern Meigs (the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year). Great kid, Amazing Athlete and committed to play Volleyball at Wheeling Jesuit. Congrats Lexi!
