Dont schedule games if you are not going to play them

Post by stacey7722 »

Lynchburg-Clay will play one game less this year because Alexander doesn't want to drive 2 1/2 hours to play the scheduled game before the tournament? Lynchburg drove the 2 1/2 hours to play a 10:00 am Saturday game last year as well as both soccer teams drove the 2 1/2 hours on a Saturday morning for two soccer matches this year. Just don't schedule the games if you don't intend to play them please. Now Lynchburg girls team will play one less season game. Thanks...

Story up this way is, Lynchburg cancelled this game due to a league make up game vs North Adams? I'm pretty sure the Spartans would have made the trip to play a quality team to get them ready for tournament.

I can't imagine Alexander cancelling a game just because they don't want to travel that far.

I could see the game being cancelled because a league game has to be made up though.
So maybe that's what happened and someone got bad information.

Need to get your facts straight Stacy. LC called Alex to cancel.

Now wonder how many teams this year will not be playing a full schedule? I'm sure Logan won't.

If winter is bad ..mother nature should tell us what day it will be a few years ahead of time so basketball games won't be scheduled on them days.

I am going to verify this tonight with LC athletic director, and if that Is the case I will not delete the post but I will write a retraction and apology. That is not the information that was given to us, they told us Alexander cancelled the game because of the drive. What is happening, why do they want to cancel all the games? The kids only get so many in their career. Play the games!

League games have to be played so sometimes teams have to cancel non league games at the end of the season in order to make up a league game. Happens more than you'd think.

Alexander has a good Athletic Director and he doesn't just cancel games because he doesn't want the kids to travel that far. They wouldn't have scheduled the game to begin with if that was the case.

Here is the problem with adding 2 games to make it 22 total, the games being added are non league, and to try and find games in southeast Ohio, you sometimes have to travel. Throw in snow days and league rules that league games have to be played and you get cancellations and no make up days! They added games, but didnt lengthen the season!

I have been at Alexander for quite a while. I can tell you that would not happen. I hate traveling to Chesapeake only to lose ball games, but our AD will not get out of games. Our girls have traveled all over SEO this year and the past years to play the best competition. I know nothing about this situation, but I can say this without hesitation, this game being cancelled had nothing to do with Alexander's unwillingness to travel.

Go Alex.

The Lady Spartans traveled to Fairland and Southeastern this year. Its not about travel because games like these win or lose can only better prepare your ladies for tournament.

Just look at LC schedule on arbiter. Did they play NA on said date?

I keep up with all the schedules/results on trivalleyconference.com and was told the game got cancelled because LC had a league game to make up.

Lol, isn't Southeastern like 40 minutes from Albany? Now, Fairland is a haul.

Fairland is a long terrible ride that probably is an 1 hr 40 on a bus.

Alexander HS to LC HS? Gotta be 2 hours and 115 or do miles

Waiting! Stacey . Trying to figure out to me sounds like a parent to me and makes it sound like that one game is the end of the world, my thoughts. Just move on.
