Being "one-footed" isn't a hindrance in the SOC. Burg's all-time leading goal scorer Bryan Craft was almost exclusively left footed which helped quite a bit due to the strange nature of it.

Very rarely to teams play players to one foot in the SOC.

flash, obviously you dont know whqat your talkin about because he does have control and he is one of the most aggressive players ive ever seen play.

Yea, he is very aggressive but definately out of control. All he did for northwest against burg was give the burg two penalty kicks, if you ask me that is very out of control. If you think that he will be an impact player at minford, that says alot about what minford has.

just sayin

I think that minford and Burg will both be good teams this year, along with Waverly. The race for the SOC will come down to who wants it more. It wouldnt surprise me if the team that wins it all has 1 or even 2 losses in the SOC. With that said I think that will be that Burg. Im not saying that cause im a burg fan its just that i know a lot of that senior class and it really means a lot to them. I know that they have been talking about it for a real long time and they want the season to start now if it could.Should be a good season for the SOC and cant wait for it to get started.

Does anyone know if Eastern or Oak Hill will be fielding teams this year? I know Eastern has been trying to for a few years now and I heard mention of Oak Hill playing this year. Any information?

Last word on Eastern (Pike Co) was they are still trying to get a Junior High program going and hoping to build from there into a HS team...It will probably be a few years before a HS team is a reality...

I'd sure like to see more and more schools without a soccer program start one up.If so,this would add more competition and schools to play in the SOC.

Word on the Waverly coaching position is that Murphy's contract was not renewed by the school board, but he is reapplying for the job...I look for him to be on the sidelines again this Fall!

pcohio,
The only way I see Murphy back as the head coach is if there are new board members and I don't look for that to happen.
The way I heard it the board voted 3-2 to non-renew, with the 2 willing to go with a one year deal with stiff stipulations. Even with the stiff stipulations it wasn't enough to sway the 3 who voted to change course with the program.

Well, if they're not renewing, they had better get on the stick and try to find another coach!

We will see what happens, but I agree that the decision needs to be made ASAP for the purpose of Summer Camps, etc.
