West 2011

Post by Buckeye24 »

Just curious as to how you guys think West will fare next season. They're losing about 6 or 7 seniors so it's gonna be interesting.

They lost 7 seniors the year before this too. They are just too depleted to be a serious contender anytime soon. The talent pool seems to be all dried up.

They have some kids playing at the Y in Waverly on a couple teams, and I heard some tried out and made the club team in Chilli. Not sure how truthful, just throught the rumor mill. If so, Congrats. Hopefully these players (if seniors) will open some doors for the youngers kids to play more.

Ryan Middleton personally told me he made the club in Chilli, but I'm pretty sure he's the only one.

West could improve if they would go in the right direction. Obviously the direction they have taken in the past doesn't work. Maybe time to change directions and see what happens. You know like teach teach the kids how to play and how to win. It only takes one win to turn a team around.

they do need help with program. very difficult to play year after year and not win many games. they need a high school coach that takes interest in youth and develops program from ground up. takes time. but that is wishful thinking. what program in the soc has a coach that really works with the youth.

When will West ever get a soccer coach? Pretty late in the year to not have a coach yet? Are they throwing in the towel already?

I have no idea what's taking them so long, but from what I heard its likely that Tim Wolfe will get the spot. I would be REALLY surprised if someone else gets it.

We can only hope he does.

Well West finally has a new head soccer coach. They chose a substitute teacher from Springfield. I wish her luck. She has a long hill to climb. Now she needs a team of coaches to get rolling. Good luck West.

It doesn't surprise me that West ignores the obvious best choice for coach and hires someone from out of the area.

Only 5 seniors next year, one's a new player and one may not be able to play due to an injury. It's gonna be a really rough year for West.

Couldn't agree more. Was talking to the injured player yesterday. He said he was going to try to go up to a sports medicine doctor in Cincinnati and see what they say about it.

They scrimmaged Clay this morning and from what I heard it was either 5-5 or a 5-4 loss. They were playing without one of their team captains too. From the way they've been playing these last few scrimmages, it looks like they have a chance to be a decent team this year.
