The Tigers announced their squad of 32 this morning after a grueling 3 days of tryouts.

Meet the Team night will be Monday Aug 8th.
-They will be collecting canned goods for the local food pantry at the event. Players will be announced and the varsity and JV teams will play a short intrasquad scrimmage to get things kicked off. 6:00pm start time

nice to be in a situation where you can hold tryouts. probably the only school south of columbus that can pull that off. congrats.
problem will also be tigers may be the only team with a full jv. getting games may be tough.

The Tigers tied Lancaster 3-3 on Tuesday night. It was a very good test for Waverly. Lancaster was the better squad but the Waverly fought back for the draw.

As for JV you are correct. We will be playing Chillicothe, Unioto, Jackson, Circleville, Piketon varsity, Adena Varsity, and hope to play at least 1 half vs. Wheelersburg, Minford, Zane Trace, South Webster, and Northwest.

Waverly JV won 5-0 and the Varsity match ended tied 1-1 at half due to lightning.

Got to the Fairfield Union v Waverly scrimmage late last night and it was 2-0 at half. Was told that Waverly scored 2 quick goals in the first 10-15 min. The second half looked pretty even and FU got one back with a nice header for a goal by the Manley boy. Ended up 2-1.
Was hoping to see the Wigit kid from Waverly but could never figure out which one he was. No one stood out offensively for Waverly, at least the second half that i saw. Actually thought that FU was the better team in the second half but FU looks like they will struggle to score this year as was predicted after losing that Senior class last season.

Glad you could make the scrimmage. Waverly was without Wiget, Roseberry, Purpero, Diener, Schiller and others due to injuries and illnesses last night. They should all be back next week or soon after though.

Is this a co-ed team? Any girls playing for the Tigers this year?

Waverly has 3 girls on the team...1 senior who will play both jv and varsity 1 junior and one very talented freshman who once healthy should contribute a lot to jv team.

I didn't see anything posted on the Hilliard Davidson scrimmage. It went straight from the Lancaster scrimmage to the Fairfield Union scrimmage. Did it get played? IAny info on this one. Obviously Davidson is a strong D1 squad. Score?

Waverly fell to Davidson 4-0. The Tigers held their own and were only down 1-0 with 25 minutes remaining. It was a great test and eye opener for the squad.

We do have 3 girls. Gillian Kittaka is a senior, Shana Parker, soph, and Maddie Parson, fresh.

socman...........I sort of thought that Waverly might have not had Wiget the night of the FU scrimmage. That doesn`t say much for FU still losing to Waverly without all those players. But we figured that FU wouldn`t be as good with the losses of this last Senior class which was the winningest class in school history.
I wanted to see this Wiget kid because last year he was right up there in the state scoring stats with my son all year long. Oh well, good luck to Waverly this year.
