Athens Volleyball 2014

Post by AxGrinder »

Athens first summer outing today at the Muskingum Spikefest at John Glenn High. Lady Bulldogs sweep the day and win first place 2nd year in a row. Heard Athens dominated at the net. Can't wait to see them play this fall.

Athens had a busy week. Thursday they traveled to Portsmouth Clay and won there and then hosted Saturday and won that one too. Bulldogs currently haven't lost a set this summer.

Boo33vb sorry I wasn't at the tournaments but Saturday I heard in bracket play Athens beat Chillicothe in semi finals and the eastern pike in finals.

Bulldogs go yo Otterbein Saturday and then to Adena Sunday. Hope they keep playing well. Going to be a great season!

Athens in 3. Lots of weapons and athletes on the Athens squad. I believe they have 7 seniors on the team that have been battle tested through the yrs in all sports. Alexander on the other hand have 3 juniors and 7 sophs and 1 fresh. Some tested last yr as sophs and fresh with their tournament run. Good luck to both teams this yr.

Athens had a big weekend at the Dublin Scioto Invitational. Athens beat Upper Arlington, Sparta Highland (ranked 3rd in D3) and D1 Gihanna to win the invite. Bulldogs are 9-0 and have only lost 1 set all season. Up next is NY Tuesday night at home.

That is a great weekend. The next step is the Mother of Mercy tournament in two weeks.

The Bulldogs led by 4 year starters Outside hitter Olivia Harris and super setter Sara Skinner have completely dominated the TVC Ohio for the last 2 seasons not losing a single set. Tonight they close out the season at Wellston. To the victors the spoils!!!! Congratulations and best wishes for yet another long tourney run
