Here is the schedule for the upcoming 1st pitch Classic at the VA. Thanks to the Paints for opening up their facility and allowing high schools the chance to play on such a nice field. Question? How are teams picked that get to play at Paints? Do the HS coaches put in for this tournament? Are the teams selected by paints officials by their tradition of being good or does any team have a shot at playing at Paints...Reason I asked it seems like a few of the teams play there every year while others have never played there ....

Over the Years the paints have opened their facility to any high school team that would call and book with them. (The stadium has to be available of course)

I know this year they sent out an email to all coaches on their open dates and times. So first come first serve usually. I know they like to keep things pretty local because of better attendance and more $ they can make. They charge admission and have concessions.

The 1st Pitch Classic is by invite only. They look at past teams and try and get the best matchups for the week. That is why you are going to see a Wheelersburg play multiple times vs. someone outside the area. Again, a lot is based on the past seasons. It looks to be a great lineup again this year and should be some great games!

Any updates on the opening games? Would have loved to come up and watch some good games but being 2 hours away makes it tough! Looking forward to a great season though in southern Ohio! Good luck to all!
