GANT FIELD * ZANESVILLE
GANT FIELD * ZANESVILLE
For a regional game I was disappointed with the management of the facility. First the first game went extra innings which is understandable but there was only a one person groundcrew. The kid worked hard but how long does it take one person to get a field ready for the next game. Secondly the rain came and delayed the start of the game, once again understandable, but there was no tarps put on the pitchers mound and home plate area. Then there was the scoreboard operator: the count was never accurate which happens occasionally but never as frequent as this. The outs were posted late if at all. I think the OHSAA should be informed of the situation in Zanesville and reconsider future games. For a state regional and a baseball players dream to be there the kids and fans deserve better.

Also another great umpire crew lol. Nice to have a strike zone that varies and extends further than the boundaries of the plate.

To add more fuel to the fire, I just heard tonight that the tournament director wanted Waverly to start infield 15 minutes into a mandatory 30 minute lightening delay. Waverly balked and stayed in the dugout.

DII Regional should be moved back to Beaver field in Lancaster.
Great playing field and facility.

I have never thought of Gant as a regional level facility. It is very nostalgic there but playing surface and facilities are not up to par. All of the above mentioned is true. I agree that DII should go back to Lancaster.
