I think I'm correct, this is the third year in a row for Badin being in the state. Runners-up the last two years. I umpired their state final game last year. Costly errors decided the game. Burg played them 2 years ago I believe. Burg had several errors in that game. I'm rooting for the burg.

Yes, this is Badin's 3rd straight trip.

In 2008, Wheelersburg and Badin met at the same game. Badin's fans were rocking the stands and were all together cheering on their team. The Pirates always have good support, but we were out numbered in that game. I hope we can get as many people as possible wearing orange and being just as loud to help cheer on the Burg. The Pirates would really appreciate all the support that they can get up at the state.

Wheelersburg must play a solid, 7 inning game against a very good Hamilton Badin program. The Pirates cannot make the mistakes they made two seasons ago or have base running mistakes like they did in the game against Federal Hocking on Friday. Its a given that both programs are very good. HB is making its 3rd staright trip to the state tournament and Burg is going back for the 2nd time in 3 years. Best of luck to Wheelersburg.

They're a tough out every year. Including this year, they have been to the baseball state tournament 10 times. Championships were won in DIII (1991) and DII (1996). Last year (2009) they lost the championship game 7-6 to Indian Valley in extra innings. Years of state tournament appearances are 1975,84,91,93,96,99,2005,08,09 and this year. Not bad for a school which dates back to only 1966.

They are 22-9 coming in, but play in the GCL in Cincinnati. Very tough league.

I see where Badin played the Mighty Men of Moeller. Moeller is in the semi-finals this year for D I. As catch 24 said the Greater Catholic League (GCL) in Cincy is tough.
