when you play in a constant rain, you cannot hold on to the ball. turf or no turf.
it is impossible to keep the balls dry.

It would be awesome if someone could post updates on the Trimble/Valley game ... I was listening to 92.1 for the Eastern & Southern games - I'm sure those guys are done for the day after that 6-hour marathon!

I wish they could have moved the games to Monday/Tuesday at different sites if they needed to. Hard to play in this weather even on turf.

Word I have is it was 0-0 through 4, but Valley dinked in a couple and then drilled a couple to get 5 in the 5th. 5-0 Valley after 5.

Final
Valley 6
Trimble 0

Sounded like a much different game, very few walks or errors and appeared to be well played by both teams.

I'll see what I can do for the last game, doubt it will be available until it is called in by the touney manager though.

Ridiculous these games were played today. Could've waited until Tom. Even though va is not avail, there r 4 fields in se Ohio that could've been used. Also wed southern n eastern have to play at 5 in chilli. Wonder how hard it is for some to get to that game if parents work. 2 hr drive.

Just saw the final updates on the game:

Whiteoak 9
Green 3...in 8 innings

Green ties on a missed flyball with 2 outs in the 7th, then returns the favor with 6(!) errors in the 8th. I'm assuming all of those were unearned runs.

I agree 100% regulator. Every ball is wet and it makes for bad baseball. That should not be in the District Tournament.

SHAME on the OHSAA for scheduling games on Mothers Day , then forcing the teams to play in C R A P weather . Horrible , but not surprising the way the OHSAA operates . MD

I agree on the shitty wheather and how the ohsaa treats southeast schools with no respect.
That said, I do feel that the best teams still won all the games on sunday

Nice win Eagles! No way these games should be played in those conditions or on mothers day. Use Rio and another field to play the semifinals then play championship at paint. Normally Valley hosted DIV but since they are DIV now, maybe use Gallia Academy, Jackson or Wellston.

Actually, Jottings, the game started at 7 p.m.

It's unlikely it's over by 8:23 p.m.

Maybe around 9 or 9:15 p.m. it will be done.

Any updates? And yes update doesn't mean the game has to be finished. You can actually get an update after a half inning.

Fairfield Union defeated Athens 5-4 in 8 innings. They will play Unioto who beat #1 Seeded Sheridan 2-0.
