I know Waverly has a very good team. They have lost a bunch of 1 run games. They play a tough SOC 2 schedule. Also they may very well have 1 of the best pitchers in SE Ohio. So this game could be interesting!

Tigers will definitely compete, slight edge to Waverly in my mind maybe - I will take the Tigers. Should be a duel if Athens' #1 has his stuff going also. Good luck to the SOC team.

Athens 4-2, complete game by both pitchers.
Athens damage done in first couple innings. Didn’t hear exactly how they scored but it was 3-0 early and heard Waverly was having trouble fielding and throwing.
Things settled down but Waverly couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

Both pitchers were good. Howell is pretty good but Waverly’s fielding made a couple mistakes that lead to runs

I thought the pickoffs that Waverly had at first base in I believe the 5th and 6th innings killed potentially being able to get kids in position to make something happen.

Well played game on both sides, as happens so often the team that gives the other team more that three outs more often loses.
