2019 SOC 2
Re: 2019 SOC 2
Will the same pitchers be on the mound for the completion of the Burg and Waverly game or does the pitching rule come into effect?

Re: 2019 SOC 2
The only advantage I see is Minford having a deeper pitching staff. You could also use Adena as a comparison, who just beat Burg last night.PirateBB wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 2:57 pm Wheelersburg is now 17-5 (SOC 12-1). They are up 3 in the Bottom of 8th, vs. Waverly with a 1-1 count on the batter to be continued tomorrow at 4:30. If they win tomorrow they will then be 18-5 (SOC 13-1) and will share SOC Championship. They play Adena tonight.
The 5 teams that have now beat Wheelersburg:
* Fort Loramie (last years state champs) current record 20-0 (#1 in State in Ohio)
* Minford (last year Final 4) current record 21-1
* Johnson Central (KY) (#11 in KY) current record 24-3
* Hilliard Darby (Division 1) current record 16-6
* Zane Trace (Division 2) current record 17-7
Combined record 98-17. 4 Teams outside of Burgs division.... The team in Burg's division (Minford) have split with Burg this year. Predicting we will see them play each other again in Regionals.
Waverly is a great team played by both Burg and Minford. Minford played them within 3 days and scored a total of 9 runs (4 runs and 5 runs). Burg has seen the Waverly Ace twice over a span of 2 weeks and scored 13 so far in the game last night that was delayed. Still thinking Burg and Minford will be seeing each other again in Regionals.
GO BURG!!!
In 2 games Minford scored a total of 13 runs while giving up 3 to them.
Deeper pitching is why Minford has lost one game and Burg has lost a few now.

Re: 2019 SOC 2
I heard From a burg guy it was a scrimmage so each burg pitcher pitched at less an inning. Nobody was there but few parents and no gate. Also the same old burg guy told me oak hill played the best he saw them play. He said no matter who burg pitched oak hill hit them and hard!
Re: 2019 SOC 2
So it was a scrimmage to the team that lost, but a game to the team that won. Makes sense.14U wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 9:13 amI heard From a burg guy it was a scrimmage so each burg pitcher pitched at less an inning. Nobody was there but few parents and no gate. Plus, Burg probably just wanted to get innings in for different guys. It happens a lot during these games.
Re: 2019 SOC 2
It was a game played like a scrimmage. Both teams had an opening so they played. Counts as a loss for burg but not a SOC loss.
Re: 2019 SOC 2
Last I heard it still not finished. Been rained out when rescheduled. Heard waverly got beat yesterday against Marietta to end their season any truth?
Re: 2019 SOC 2
I was looking at statewide tournament brackets and it does look like Marietta defeated Waverly 13-7 yesterday in the Sectional playoffs. Last time I heard the Burg game is being played at Waverly tomorrow.
When the game was called, there were 2 outs and a 1-1 count on the Waverly batter. Does anybody know what time is game is slated to resume tomorrow?

Re: 2019 SOC 2
There is a 5% chance of rain for Waverly tomorrow morning. If Waverly cancels the game again tomorrow as they have the past few Burg games, will the Waverly team continue to practice to play those last 2 pitches at a point in the future?
Re: 2019 SOC 2
Congratulations to Wheelersburg on sharing the SOC Title in a resumed game that lasted 2 pitches, 15 seconds
