Should be a good year! I will go with this:

1. Westfall- Rosshirt in the circle and great supporting cast including a good group of incoming freshman
2. Zane Trace- Geno is good enough by herself to put them in contention! Saultz returns as well as some other nice players
3. Unioto- Lost some nice players including Bane, but they return enough to put them near the top again
4. Piketon- Return Dunn, Merritt, Zimmerman and others. The loss of Swayne will hurt them, but they have enough left to compete
5. Paint Valley- With the return of Riley in the circle they can compete with and beat anyone. Also return Lott, Stanforth, and bring in some good freshman
6. Adena- Bowdle comes back in the circle, Dawson and Givens also return. Not sure they can compete with the upper half teams every night, but with Beeler now at the helm they will be competitive
7. Huntington- Lytle returns in the circle and they do return some other nice players, but I don't think they are talented enough to compete with the upper tier teams
8. Southeastern- Rebuilding and getting better, but with a talented league and great pitching they will struggle for wins

POY- Geno has to be the favorite (returning co-POY), If Westfall wins the league it could be Rosshirt, If Huntington surprises me and others and puts itself near the top Lytle may get some consideration. Anyone but one of these 3 would really surprise me!

Man a lot of folks are talking Westfall, (and not just the Mustang fans) their freshman class is the most touted
Class of softball players the SVC has heard of in many a year.
I really need to see them play.

Trace returns a great one in Geno.
Trace is also loaded with athletes
who will make for an excellent supporting cast.

Huntington may lack the depth of talent
the rest of the league has but Alayna
is a competitor who will have the Huntsmen in contention.

Adena will be interesting,
again a lot of talent but do they have a shut down pitcher?

The girls from Piketon have put a lot of work in,
might just have the most underrated pitcher in the SVC.

Paint Valley is improving, I hear they have some nice pitching talent
coming in the jr. High ranks. With an ace pitcher healthy this season
we may just see them move into the top of the league standings.

Southeastern took the league co-hamps to the limit
in the last league game of the season last year.
Don't over look them, they will burn ya.
They also have a flame thrower in the jr. High ranks.

As for my Sherman's,
Will need to replace 3 seniors from  last years league Co-Champs.
Gena Wright ended the season last year as the Sherman's #1 pitcher so it stands to reason she will be the Sherman's Ace going into her sophomore campaign.

It's hard for me to pick right now.
I think the softball league this year
maybe the best talent and balance
of any SVC sport in recent memory.
Westfall, Huntington, Piketon, Paint Valley,
Unioto and of course Trace all return ACE pitchers
who would dominate most leagues.

Going off what returns from last year this is how I see it shaking out:

My top two are pretty close.
Unioto
Zane Trace

My next three are not too far behind,
in fact none of these would be surprises if they won the league.
Huntington
Piketon
Westfall

My next two  will knock off some of the teams
I have mentioned above. I just don't  think
They have the depth to challenge for the league title
Adena
Paintvalley

I will finish with Southeastern.
The panthers are improving
I just don't see them moving very far up the
SVC ladder this season.

Unioto is a joke. I think they will be 4th. Geno is the best pitcher in southern ohio for sure. Wright maybe in the top 3. Pitching will win games, and unioto doesnt have it. Piketon will place 3rd ZT will be 1st. and Westfall will be 2nd hands down.

Judge Judy The honorable X moves to have your ruling overturned based on a lack of knowledge.
I sight the following reasonings:
On the claim Morgan Geno is the best in southern Ohio, your wrong.
She may be the best in the State and also one of the top prospects for the entire Midwest in the class of 2015.
I site the following web site as my exhibit A:

http://www.ohiosoftballrecruitingnews.c ... developing

My exhibit B will come later this year when she breaks the State record for home runs, or intentional walks...........

Claim 2, Unioto is a joke
I find falsehood in this judgment as well for the Sherman have won 20 plus games a season for well over 6 years now, maybe more. Following likewise Coach Jadwin has never had a sub 500% season in his tenure as coach and I believe he has won over 95% of sectional tournament games his teams have participated in.

Also I would like clarification on your ruling regarding Gena Wright.
In your judgment you ruled she was the 3rd best pitcher.
Is that in Southern Ohio
Or
SVC
Or
On Unioto's roster?
The way I read your brief was;
she is the 3rd best in Southern Ohio
yet you pick the Sherman's to finish fourth in the SVC
and you substantiate your ruling with "Pitching wins games and Unioto doesn't have it"
That contradicting statement alone should have you're ruling overturned and I propose it makes a strong case for impeachment or disbarment.

Respectfully
Xtoxxviii

Geno is good, but lets not get carried away X! "Maybe the best in the state", maybe you should look at that list (Avelo, McCombs,Parker, Asmus, Rahach). These are all VERY GOOD 2015 pitchers, with Avelo leading the pack BY FAR! This is not even mentioning any of the 2013 or 2014 pitchers. However, you may be on to something with the homerun thing!

Gena Wright is a very nice pitcher, but anyone who puts her in the top 3 in Southern Ohio either does not know softball or has a very biased opinion! In the SVC alone you have Geno, Lytle, Rosshirt, Dunn, Merritt, and Riley. All of these rank right up with her and maybe even better! To even be a top 3 pitcher in this conference is an accomplishment!

Actually, get your facts straight... first of all none of the schools above Geno were southern ohio, like i said? Second of all Wright is clearly not in the top in southern ohio.. she maybe the 3rd best in the svc. you ovbiously have no clue what your talking about. Please entertain us with some more of your ignorance.

If claiming Morgan Geneo is the best the great state of Ohio has to offer on the softball diamond makes one ignorant then I plead guilty to the charge.

If disputing the claim that my beloved Unioto Sherman's "are a joke" is rewarded by being labeled ignorant then likewise I shall accept that ruling, guilty as charged.

Judge Judy I stand behind my claims and the coming season will prove me to be correct.

I lay the following challenge out to you:
You  claim the Sherman's will finish fourth this coming season in the SVC.
My wager is this- If the Sherman's finish 4th or lower this year in varsity softball, I the greatest SVC poster of all time Xtoxxviii  will never post on Southeasternohiopreps.com again. I will contact the sites administrators and have my account deleted.

However if the Sherman's Softball squad
finishes 2nd or better in the SVC league
You will come on this very topic and proclaim the following:

#1That Unioto Softball is a nice program with hard working girls.
#2 Xtoxxviii is the greatest SVC Poster ever.
#3 Xtoxxviii is the best looking SVC Poster ever.

Do you stand behind the claims you made?
Can you stand up to the challenge I present to you?
Do you really want a shot at the title?

Patiently  awaiting your response
X

***** Clairification  on finishing 2nd or better in SVC
This includes any of the following:
Winning the league out right
Tieing with another or multiple teams for 1st
Or having the Second best record in the league
be it alone,
with another team
or
with multiple teams.

To finish 4th or lower. There will need to be 3 teams with better league records then the Sherman's.

If Any disputes of final standings occur I suggest SVCSportsZone to act as arbitrator and make the final ruling.*****

She very well be the best in SEO ( minfords thrower is nice) but there are some monster throwers out there going to major top twenty programs . I'll let you two carry on now , its quite entertaining . MD

Only one chapter has been written in the book Geno.
We have three more to go before her full legend is told.

Morgan is no way the best pitcher in Ohio! I would say she is in top 10 though. and as far as best in southern Ohio, thats hard to say also cause there is alot of good pitchers and on any given night any of them can be the best in southern Ohio!!

Judge judy must have swung the gavel and hit herself in the head. Coach Jadwin is the best coach in the league. Wins year after year and develops players. Not a joke :) and i have no ties to the "U ".
