I think SVC will be decided by Westfall and Huntington this year.

Westfall at Huntington tonight.
Will tell us a lot as to how the league
plays out this year.
will @dw1509 or @BradMorris be giving
live twitter updates?

Speaking of @dw1509 & @BradMorris,
someday we will look back and realize
these two are the best to ever cover local
High school athletics.
Thanks to both of you.

An interesting under card is Adena vs ZT
Will kind of give us an idea of how the
middle of the pack will shake out in the
League this year.

Hate to see DWebb leaving again. HS sports coverage will be null and void after his departure, just like last year.

Was able to catch some of the Westfall/Adena game last night. Westfall is going to be tough to beat. Their lineup is pretty stacked all the way through. This game will give us an idea of how far along Kellough really is.

Adena is much improved. The top half of their lineup is right there with anyone in the league. Depth is their biggest issue. Only having one real pitching option is a problem. Coach Storts has done a tremendous job with the program though.

I'll make sure to put your $20 in the mail tomorrow. ;)

There are a lot of people who cover high school sports across Southeast Ohio because they want to do good work for the kids and highlight their accomplishments. We are blessed by all of their work. I can speak for Derrick in this, as we both view our jobs as being all about the kids. I know we both certainly appreciate the kind words.

I'd like to see the game, but I'll be at Teays Valley more than likely this evening. Huntington is off to a good start and I've heard good things about Kellough and some of their other players. It'll be a good early season test for both teams in the conference.

With Becca Brown graduating, Westfall is working in a couple of different pitchers here early this season. There is potential in the circle and if they can get one or two of the pitchers on track, Westfall can be pretty good with its offense and defense.

Chillicothe plays a few SVC teams this year.
It will be interesting to see how they do against
The rest of the league.
I'm not sure why that is a surprise. Unioto is down 2 of their best players from last year and Chillicothe always has good athletes. They small-balled Unioto out of the park. Chillicothe doesn't have a dominant pitcher, but they can score and have above average D. I have a feeling that Unioto will have more games like the Chillicothe one.
No slight at the Cavs intended. They do have some nice athletes.
It was not as much as the win that surprised me but the score. 14-6 and the game at Unioto.

The Cavs lost to Huntington last night 7-6 in a good one.

As surprising as the the Unioto win was to me, the Greenfield loss was a surprise in my book as well.

Westfall wins the SVC the only question is if it a golden ball.

Westfall 16 Unioto 7

Huntington 5 Piketon 2

No word on zt vs PV or Adena vs SE

At the turn WF sets perfect 7-0

Huntington is one game back at 6-1

Unioto is with in striking distance at 5-2

Piketon looks to be playing the roll of spoiler in the second half at 4-3

Without the other scores from tonight I hate to speculate much but it looks like Adena has the ability to pull off an upset in the second half and Zane Trace will be playing a lot better ball, don't sleep on the Pioneers.

Gotta like the odds for the Mustangs as all the top teams must travel north in the second half.

Adena 17
SE 10

ZT 11
PV 7

Adena has been Jekyl and Hyde so far this year. Played Unioto and Huntington tough in the first half, but also lost big against PV, Piketon, and Westfall. They have the ability to pull the upset on any given night though.

Can't see anyone beating Westfall, but Huntington has the best shot.

I agree SE alum
I don’t see WF dropping a game in the league.
They took care of business on the road
in the first half of league play.
Now all the top teams must go to Westfall,
warmer weather, comforts of home, young talent
becoming more seasoned, all this lines up
in favor of the Mustangs.

And the upset happens tonight!

Adena 7
Unioto 6

Abby Stark hits a 2-run, 2 out homerun on an 0-2 pitch in the bottom of the 6th to give the Warriors the lead for good! Warriors come back from a 6-0 deficit.

Tip of the hat SE alum.
You called it.

Adena kept fighting and got the win.

Any other scores from around the league?

Huntington's having a good season and they have a little confidence after playing a close game with Westfall the first time. Should be a good game on Monday.
