D2 Southeast Sectional North

Post by Tiger1990 »

Some interesting match ups ... what's everyone's thoughts?

1. Sheridan (12-2) vs 8. Logan Elm (2-9)
2. Circleville (10-4)vs 7. Miami Trace (4-8)
3. Fairfield Union (8-4) vs 6. WCH (6-8)
4. New Lexington (7-9) vs 5. McClain (10-7)

The Eastern schools are hard to find anything out about. M.T. May be a tough out for Circleville as Trace has been playing very well as of late! Also was surprised with McClain having to travel to New Lex who was a below .500 team.

(8) Logan Elm
&
(7) Miami Trace

Both went and beat the Souths #5 Unioto at Unioto this week

Safe to say the North is more balanced with teams then the South.

Funny seeding going on this year in D2
McClain lower then North Lex.
Vinton County beat Athens and Gallia Acadmey, tooled Chillicothe in a scrimmage yet get stuck with 8 seed.

Sheridan & Fairfield Union should both win

Circleville vs Miami Trace
&
New Lex vs McLain
Should be good games

i think Sheridan will eventually run into Warren for a trip to the regionals

Winners of
New Lex/McLain
Circleville/Miami Trace
Games will have to get by Jackson to make it to the regionals

The North is deeper talent wise
But I think the Top two in the South will be in the regionals

A few record updates as Logan Elm is 6-12 and Circleville is 13-8...just lost to Hilliard Bradley and Gahanna.

The North sectional should pretty much be chalk as there is a big discrepancy between the top half of the sectional and the bottom half.

The South favorites should be Jackson, Warren, Gallipolis and Waverly.

Logan Elm's struggled with its pitching for most of the season, but they've improved over the last week winning five of its last six games. Defeated Amanda and lost to Bloom-Carroll (No. 6 seed in D2 Central District out of around 22 schools) by a run.

They have a good lineup, but Sheridan has a solid pitcher. I'll take Sheridan, but this one could be a little more interesting than what a 1-8 matchup normally is.

How good is New Lex? Any info on what the Tigers will see over there?

Didn’t Circleville beat Jackson earlier this year?
