This is the 2nd time a softball team from Burg has made it to the world series. Here is the 2001 Wheelersburg Softball Team at the World Series. This team went 1-2 and didn't advance from pool play.

Wheelersburg LL playing in LLWS this week

Games on ESPN plus . Starts tonight VS Mexico. Great recognition for our area and congrats to the 11-12u girls and their families for doing so well. Burg softball is going to be loaded for a very long time . Go Burg .

Won today 3-2 over Philliphines in 9 innings. Down 2-1 in bottom 6th and 2 outs and they scored to tie it and sent it to extras.

La rolling , rematch from 3 days ago in which Burg couldnt overcome a bad top of 1 . Gave up 3 on very few hits and fell 3-2 . But I dont think Burg can throw Howard again can they ? If not its going to be a tough battle to beat them without her throwing. La up 9-2 over Tn .

I didn't think they had pitch counts in Girls softball or rules on how much they could pitch. I never followed softball like I did baseball. I always heard the under hand motion of softball pitchers didn't put a lot of stress on the shoulder and arm like baseball pitchers. I always assumed they could pitch as often as their arm felt ok. Don't know though....

Little League has limits on innings pitched and when rest is needed but if I remember right they increase those during tournament play.
I think during tournament play they can pitch up to 6 innings without having a days rest. If they pitch 7 or more innings a days rest is required. One pitch thrown is counted as a full inning pitched.

Yes Howard is eligible to throw again tonight , should be a tight low scoring game , both teams have dominant throwers . One more game to the finals of the LL WS . An amazing accomplishment .

Watching Pa versus the phillipines , scoreless into the 4th .. both teams very impressive , Phillipines practice 4 times a day , they whip the ball around very well . Very well schooled . Pleasure to watch .
