Coal Grove returns most of their lineup. The pitcher, 2nd base, Short Stop and 3rd base all graduated. They have a few freshmen who will probably see some playing time. Plus they are building a new field for the girls!! It is currently under construction and will hopefully be ready for the season.

I believe all of their junior high teams aren't school sponsored though, just the HS teams.

Portsmouth Lady Trojans will be solid. There is a very good nucleus of freshmen to go along with a handful of returning starters, including catcher Jacqueline Batista. This team will be a little more athletic than in recent years. The future looks bright for PHS softball.

Several OVC schools played in the Arnett Scrimmage last Saturday at Portsmouth West. I know Minford beat RH 4-0. Waverly beat Ironton 8-1 and tied Portsmouth. Portsmouth mercy ruled Green. Coal Grove beat Clay 5-1. Rock Hill has their Queen of the Hill Tournament at their place this weekend so there should be some good games to watch there to open the season.

She is a junior at Ironton. I believe she committed to University of Indianapolis.

Indy U is a top notch d2 program , competed for a national championship a couple years back , had a 70 MPH pitcher that went to the pro league .
