Anyone else play for Ironton? Doesn’t someone have to be making these plays. Come on, give your D some credit too.

She’s a great player. Legit all state player and best pitcher in all southeastern Ohio. I find nothing wrong with it, and like the updates, no problem here.

Congrats to Ironton. Such a pleasure to watch. Keep your heads up. A lot of great softball ahead for this team. Moore is great. Does not look like a freshman out there. What seniors did Ironton lose?

i agree, Ironton and Wheelersburg would be a great game next year. Moore up against Sturgill, Hughes, Wheelersburg is loaded with good hitters. Do they also return most of their starters?

Burg loses one of their better hitters .. Claxon , and I'm not convinced Burg is loaded with good hitters .. they have two great ones that were mentioned .. but placed against good pitching I'm not convinced the rest of the lineup is that great. Solid , sure . good enough to continue the run of domination in the SOC2 , probably so.. But against Moore or other higher level pitchers ? I'm not totally convinced . Time will tell , they are young and can improve for sure

Eller was very impressive for Burg. Switch hitter with speed that can slap or hit from the right side.

Risner was a 4 year starter. Very good lead off hitter and a heck of a centerfielder

I'm not sure , not seen them play enough , but if they want to go deep and make a state run they need to greatly increase the quality of the schedule . The more you see good pitching the better chance you have to scratch out a few runs in a regional final or final 4 game. They have a few kids used to seeing good pitching in the summer but the more threats you have that are not close to certain outs the more complete your lineup is . They have the pitching , need to sure up the D and try to get a little more complete on offense . Going to be a beast in SEO , go go to final 4 with even a small bit of improvement
Re: 5/22 6PM (26-1) Ironton v (23-1) Fairfield
I was trying to make a point before an adult decided to blast a kid on here which is gone now, thankfully... The only comparison I know between Burg and Ironton offensively is against White... Burg had twice as many hits, 5 earned runs.. Ironton only had one earned run. Williams and Bergan ( Burgs 7 and 8 ) each had a couple hits off of white... but on the flip side, Burg gave up 8 runs and Ironton only gave up 3.ManitouDan2 wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 11:10 amI'm not sure , not seen them play enough , but if they want to go deep and make a state run they need to greatly increase the quality of the schedule .
