Week 2 FINAL: Warren 43, Morgan 0
Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
Locos...i have been at almost every warrior game for the last 25 years and i have seen a lot of instances where cheering and having class do have a lot in common...you would be amazed how many coaches and refs there are in the stands...i guess i really meant that there is a difference of "yelling" and "cheering" with class...knowing several of the kids on the i have all the confidence in the world but sometimes you just have to be realistic when you play a juggernaut like logan...been down that road too many times...best of luck to the warriors and you could bet your bottom dollar i will be there from about 6 until the final seconds CHEERING my lungs out...

No harm, no foul.
I think there may have been a slight misunderstanding on my end. I know what you mean about the "coaches and refs" in the stands. Seems to be a problem all over.
It's not a problem limited to Warren. I've heard some of our fans hoot an holler at coaches when the team is undefeated and winning by 2-3 scores. It's unreal.
Good Luck to Warren the next few weeks!

No offense but if Morgan loses big to Warren after Marietta, it is going to be a long season for them in the MVL!

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
Warren has not played Morgan in the regular season since 79-80 season the all time series started in 70-71.
Warren 2 wins
Morgan 5 wins
Ties 3 Coach
70-71 Tie 14-14 Kellican, Jerry
71-72 Tie 14-14 Kellican, Jerry
72-73 Win 6-0 Moore, Ernie
73-74 Tie 7-7 Moore, Ernie
74-75 Loss 0-30 Moore, Ernie
75-76 Win 7-2 Moore, Ernie
76-77 Loss 0-37 Moore, Ernie
77-78 Loss 0-40 Kussmaul, Bob
78-79 Loss 0-35 Kussmaul, Bob
79-80 Loss 6-33 Hill, Bob
Warren has scrimmaged Morgan over the years but has not played in regular season in 29 years.
I look for the Warriors to add win number three to the series by a mininum 21 points.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
I could totally see this game being a 21-10 or 17-0 game.
I think scheme wise Marietta can put up more points on an unknown opponent than Warren can. The offense the Tigers run is difficult to prepare for, and it is one that lets you expand a 10 point half time lead to 39.
That being said, I think at this point Warren is a little better than Marietta defensively, and they will be able to control the Morgan offense a bit more. This will slow down the tempo, not letting it become a blowout.
Then again I could be way off (likely), but I wouldn't be surprised if the difference is 7-10 points.

Good post. I think you've hit the nail on the head. I think Warren will win the football game, but probably won't put up 40 or 50 points.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
I think Warren will win by 20 points. Warren might not have a Perry Wheeler, but they do have a Wolfe and Pritt to pound away at you. I just believe Warrens O-Line will make room for Wolfe and Pritt to pound their way up the middle. Plus don't forget we actually have a passing game this year. If they stack up the line of scrimmage we will just score through the air. I also doubt there will be so many fumbles and/or penalties this week. The coaches made the entire team do up/downs for every penalty in the Belpre Game. I can tell you from experience my son was not looking forward to practice Wednesday knowing they had to do the extra up/downs. Also for every player that fumbled the ball they had to do a 10 bear crawls up the hill. Trust me they did not enjoy that either.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
Warren should win by a sizeable margin. The backs may find ground yardage more difficult, but once Morgan starts stacking the box, and they will with the ground assault Warren has. Warren just simply throws it over the top for a score. Ellenwood was suprisingly accurate and will hit Venham all day given a small margin of time. I look for the Warren secondary to be tested more this week, but I think Morgan will find Warren's defense much stiffer than Marietta's. Morgan wont score 20 points.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
The Warren-Point Pleasant game is actually on Saturday the 26th because the Barlow Fair parade is Friday night.

The Point Pleasant-Warren game is under contract to be played on September 25th. The contract says the 25th and Point has no intentions of not playing on the 26th or else there would have been no agreement between the two schools.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
Has nothing to do with "trying to get out" of anything....
The Warren administration should not have agreed to a game on September 25th last year and made no mention of a Saturday game to our athletic director and then send out a contract for the date of September 25th if they did not want to play on the 25th.
Don't fault us: we knew nothing about this parade.

Re: Week 2 Warren @ Morgan
gobigblacks: Just a word to the wise. The Barlow Fair Parade usually lasts for over an hour. It is the largest or should I say longest parade in the area, up here. Several years ago Logan (OH) was scheduled on a Friday night of the Parade. They sat in 80+ heat about a mile from the school, for over two hours, with no way to get to the school. The parade starts in Vincent and goes past the school to the Barlow Fair Grounds. With absolutly no way to get to the school unless you walk along the side of the road. They finally got to the school hot, miserable and unhappy. So the team would have to be at Warren by 4:30 at the latest for a 7:30 game do you think your coaching staff wants the team sitting around for three hours, they could watch the parade and get some candy. People start lining up and the Deputys close the highway very early. So there was a screw-up on the date, big deal, if you jump high enough you can get over it. Do you honestly think that this is the first time something has ever happened in the world of football. People are human and my pappy always said; Sometimes S(poop)T Just Happens. I know many people in Point Pleasant, good people, so lets just play the game and enjoy a Saturday Night Football game and root for the kids to play hard, play well and no-one get hurt.

You know, football on Barlow Fair Saturday is one of my favorite parts of the weekend.
But back to this week's task....
Big Blue shouldnt have trouble with the rebuilding Raiders.
Warren by as many as Coach Pifer wants.

Eh I guess we'll just have to come early and watch the parade. Maybe we'll get lucky and get some candy like you mentioned. Nothing like a good parade on a Friday night.
