I don't see Hillsboro or McClain and maybe Washington liking the trip to Logan. As far as fitting Logan could fit in with all sports as they did in the SEOAL. Strong in a few and weak in others. Logan has played these school at one time, maybe not McClain. Just think travel time would be a problem when bringing in all sports and grades. The FAC could bring in two more schools and when it came to MS sports each school would just play the four closest schools.

Me thinks the FAC would be best served by not considering expansion for a few years. Get the conference administration worked out. Get the competion developed. Get the rivalries and community support in place. Too big too fast is often a death sentence for any organization.

A few years will be best...Logan will be independent for no less than 3 years and I would rather be in a conference with all games within 60 minutes.

lol, there is 0% chance of Jackson going 2-3 in those 5 games....highly unlikely they even finish tied for 2nd.

Hillsboro has no chance at beating Jackson.

Chillicothe is the favorite.

Only way any of that happens is if McCoy, Evans, Humphreys all are out with injuries

Week 10 will be for the FAC Championship would be my wager. Jackson vs. Chillicothe.

Could also have some very significant playoff implications. If both teams are 8-1 or 7-2 for example going into this one winner makes it, loser most likely stays home.

Jackson will play a far less difficult non-conference schedule this season. A four year deal with West Jeff ended and was not renewed, plus the one year deals with Winton Woods and Cabell-Midland are done. Jackson picks up Fairfield Union and Gallia Academy to go along with Wellston, Western Brown, and Wheelersburg. Pretty tough stretch of Burg, WCH, and Trace during the middle of the season, and then Chilli in Week 10.

As for the FAC Championship, I would think things will definitely come down to the Week 10 battle between Jackson and Chillicothe. As others have mentioned, Court House looks to be on the way up, and Trace was pretty solid last year as well though. Looking forward to hearing more about our new conference opponents, and hope to make it to some of those games this year to get a better feel for the new competition.

Really hoping to see Logan added back to the schedule in 2018, which I think will certainly happen sooner rather than later. Would also like to see Athens on there in the near future. I could definitely do without Fairfield Union and Western Brown. As everyone knows, I also would like to see a different game in Week 1, but it seems like I'm never gonna get my wish with that one.

I wasn't saying that Fairfield Union and Western Brown are bad football teams. I would just rather play Logan and Athens. I think everyone would agree that, most years, those games would benefit Jackson a little more.

I'm saying Fairfield Union wasn't a bad move for the Ironmen. They can play just as good as Athens or Logan and it will be a good game. Now the size isn't as big as Logan and how it comes out on points I have no idea. At this time it is a good move for Jackson. Fairfield Union has a very good athletic program. A lot of schools in southeastern would not schedule them.

Fairfield Union went 1-9 in 2013, 2-8 in 2014, 4-6 in 2015, and 4-6 last year. Maybe they're trending upward though.

The game is fine for Jackson. I'm just saying it's a large step down from the competition that Jackson has scheduled the last few seasons.

Chillicothe with 6 straight home games......very rare to see that for any school. I'm interested to see how this new conference plays out. Good to see Jackson find a new home for their athletic teams.

6 straight home games for Chillicothe? Are they the new Steubenville? lol

Chillicothe should be the favorite with Maughmer returning for his senior year and a bunch of fast, athletic kids all over the field.

Greenfield and Hillsboro will be at the bottom.
