Can Unioto sneak in the playoffs

Post by Rolltanks »

After giving the league title away are the tanks playing for next year or do you think they have a chance at the post season. Not any svc talk on the site anymore it seems. As a possible 8 seed is it worth making it for the tanks. At the beginning of the year region 15 looked like we could compete with some of the teams. St Clairsville would be a ruff though. 7-7 against bloom carrol, I thought are skill guys matched up well with them.

They have a chance to slide in front of Philo if they win out, and yes, it's always worth making the playoffs.

Unioto is going to continue to have this issue playing as a big school in a predominantly small school league. They're going to have to be close to perfect to ever get a home playoff game, and will always be fighting to get in with a loss or two. They shouldn't be worrying with losses to two teams currently in the playoffs, but with one of them being D6, and most of the wins being against D6/D7 or very poor teams, it's going to be very close for them to get an 8 seed. They need to beef up their out of conference schedule if they are going to continue to play in the SVC. With their enrollment numbers increasing in the Jr. High and elementary classes, they're only going to continue to find themselves in higher divisions, playing against schools that are getting smaller. Truthfully, Unioto should've joined the FAC.

Unioto needs Vinton county to beat Wellston week 10
Also seeing how close the points are. D5 Piketon beating D4 Zane Trace would be .5 more L2 and could be the difference. Drew has Philo .02 over Unioto for the 8th seed

They play zt vc and McLain all d4 piketon and westfall d5. Problem is those nc teams are bad. We need to drop McLain for sure. They won’t leave svc. If they start to dominate the big 2 boys sports then I could see the svc kicking them or Unioto would leave then. The only reason they haven’t left been forced out is because how bad there football team is. B-ball is already taken over, they win all sports banner every year. They should with there size but if they start to win the league in football every year then there will be changes. Zt is d4 now too and they will have similar problems.

Unioto and Chillicothe will never be in the same conference, so the FAC talk will mean nothing until Chillicothe leaves it in 3-5 years for whatever is next for them.

They need to drop McClain and try to pick up a team from the West. Xenia, Bellbrook, even Washington would be better options and more difficult games as well.

They went 4-1 against D4, so they did play schools their same size in the NC, but it would be good to go up a level, especially now that it appears that they have turned a bit of a corner for the program. Before 2014, Unioto football only had one (1!) winning season since Ben Hartsock graduated, so I believe that could be a big reason why the schedule hasn't been bumped up, but it's time for it to happen now.

And you always want to make the playoffs, even if it is always as an 8 seed. Getting that extra week of practice is huge for the underclassmen and for the seniors to go out on the high note of reaching Week 11. And you never know what will happen once the postseason begins, so you'd much rather be on a bus to St. Clairsville than sitting at home in 3 Fridays.

Unioto L1: 36.5 L2: 93 with wins over Huntington and Piketon

Week 9 D4 Zane Trace vs D5 Piketon. Want Piketon to win 5 or 4.5
Week 10 Vinton vs Wellston could add 4.5
Week 10 Adena vs PV add 4
Week 10 Zane Trace over huntington add 4
Week 10 D4 Westfall vs D6 PV. Want PV to win. 5 or 4

L1: 36.5 L2: 114 that's 15.05 if Vinton beats Wellston. 15.2 if Piketon beats ZT and PV beats Westfall

Philo L1: 33.5 L2: 116 at 15.067 Average

I think Philo's is basically a lock at 15.067

This is going to be a tight race between Philo and Unioto

Philo got a small bump due to the Walnut Ridge-South game getting cancelled last Friday due to a student having a gun at the game. Philo lost to Walnut Ridge in week 1. Since all of Philo's opponents had 10 games their L2 divisor was 100. With Walnut Ridge dropping to 9 games, Philo's L2 divisor is now 99 and may be the difference over Unioto.

Philo would smash Unioto if they played.

why would Philo "smash" Unioto? I don't know much about Philo except they have nice facilities!

Indian valley wins vs claymont on the last play. Tanks need teays to beat Amanda and they must beat piketon to get in the post season.

They got the big help that they needed. The updates from that game were insane, Claymont picked up a roughing penalty on a 4th and 10 that kept IV alive down the stretch.

Win tonight is all the Shermans truly need to worry about

Looks like the Shermans will be heading North in Week 11!

With Amanda and Claymont losing, I'm pretty sure no one else could catch them to keep them out.
