Game 1

Jackson 51
McClain 39

Jackson fought the rim all night. Missed a lot of close up shots they simply just rarely do. MCLain really made some great shots and they weren’t lucky makes. They had a couple really good shooters/scorers. I see them winning a good number of games. We may see them 3 times this year.

Tristan Prater got the Ironmen going early on with a bunch of points. Drew Bragg did his thing and carried the Ironmen late. Logan Miller and Trey Miller each came off the bench when they were called and sparked Jackson. Nate Woodard used his length and good hand to cause a lot of trouble on defense. Holden Blankenship with some crazy tough buckets at the basket and defensive pressure.

Good win in the end...I’ll wager that will be our lowest shooting % of the season.

Jackson survived the perfect storm for an upset at Hillsboro. Jackson had a nice lead 29-13 at half...felt like should’ve been more and some things happened and Jackson even trailed 42-40. The Ironmen prevailed the battle 51-49. You learn a lot when things aren’t going your way....Jackson showed a lot of grit to muster that win. Drew Bragg helped finish off the win offensively in crucial moments. Logan Miller hit a clutch shot late, Tristen Prater had a great defensive game and scored his share. Chris Hughes had a real solid all-around game.

Next up...Monday at Washington

Jackson 54
@Washington 27

Jackson got it going early with highlight reel stuff from Holden Blankenship. Drew Bragg was dominant. Trey Miller slashed for 10 points in the game. Nate Woodard chipped in 3-4 assists. Tristan Prater with steal after steal, Blake Brown and Chris Hughes were everywhere. Grant Mastin with a strong showing.

Ironmen led 37-9 at half. Big minutes for everyone.

Jackson 34
Chillicothe 27

They had great length with 6’3 kid...guessing 6’7 wingspan. Strong 6’2 kid. Another 6’1 kid starting. PG as quick as anyone...then kid came off bench making big shots.

It was a battle. Great team man to man defense by the Ironmen and Drew Bragg carries the way offensively in the 2nd half.

Play each of them 2x...both have very good players that work well together. South Webster has two of the top players around and are undefeated having just beat Minford @Minford...Minford of course beat Waverly.

Tough game as expected. Jackson prevailed 49-41.

VC led a lot in the game. Evan Spires a great player and VC has long bigs and good guards to go with him. They are tenacious on rebounds and are well coached. I believe they were undefeated coming in.

Jackson had great play by Drew Bragg and Tristen Prater played a huge huge role as well on both side of the hall. Holden Blankenship was nails late on crucial free throws and solid all game never coming off the court. Logan Miller played strong in the 4th quarter and Grant Mastin used his size and strength to gather many big rebounds late in the game. Chris Hughes chipped in with some good active defense and some strong rebounds in the first half.

Tough game, we’ll see them again for final game of season.

Zimmerman and Blizzard for SW are tough to defend. Take away their driving to the basket and you should come out with a victory.
