Re: 2017-18 Ohio Bobcats Men's Basketball
The sub-par performances for the Bobcats continued last night, as Ohio (9-10) fell to Akron (10-9), 71-68. It was definitely a game of runs, Akron led the game by 7 at halftime, then OU made a run to come back, and that went back and forth nearly the entire 2nd half, before Akron secured the game late.
Gavin Block led all scorers in the game with 18 points (7 rebounds). Other double digit scorers for OU were Teyvion Kirk with 16 points and Doug Taylor with 11 points. Leading Akron was Jimond Ivey with 17 points.
Next up for OU is a matchup against Buffalo in Athens on Friday.

Re: 2017-18 Ohio Bobcats Men's Basketball
The losses for the Bobcats (9-12) are really starting to pile up, as they fell on the road tonight to Bowling Green (13-9) by a final score of 66-50. OU actually made a better game out of this in the second half as they were destroyed in the first half 41-19, but outscored the Falcons 31-25 in the second.
Teyvion Kirk had a big game for the Bobcats, scoring 20 points, and was the only OU player in double figures. Bowling Green was led by a Demajeo Williams 18 point and 11 rebound double-double. Antwon Lillard also chipped in 13 points for the victors.
OU still has some time to right the ship, and that starts when they host Central Michigan on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the Bobcats (9-13) dropped yet another MAC game, as they are 2-8 in their last 10 games. Last night they were defeated by Central Michigan (15-8) at home, 101-98 in double overtime. At one time, the Bobcats led this game by 15 points, but were unable to hold of the Chippewas forever. Both Teyvion Kirk and Doug Taylor fouled out of the game for the Bobcats. For CMU Luke Meyer and Kevin McKay both fouled out.
Both Mike Laster and Teyvion Kirk led OU in scoring with 24 points each, followed by a double double by Doug Taylor (14 points; 10 rebounds). CMU was led by Cecil Williams with 27 points and Shawn Roundtree with 22 points.

Followed by Gavin Block with 14, Teyvion Kirk and James Gollon with 13 points each and Mike Laster chipping in 10.

Now that the regular season is starting to wrap up, this is the perfect time for the Bobcats to begin playing better ball, and that's what they did tonight, winning at home over Kent State (13-15), by a score of 88-76. For Ohio (12-15), they led the whole way in this one, just building on their lead throughout.
Jordan Dartis led all scorers with 20, followed by 17 from Teyvion Kirk, James Gollon and Kevin Mickle with 13 each, Mike Laster with 11 and rounding out the double digit scoring was Doug Taylor with 10, as it was a very balanced scoring attack for OU.

On Tuesday, the Bobcats (13-16) sent their seniors (Antonio Bisutti, Sam Frayer, Kevin Mickle and Mike Laster) out with a bang as they defeated Bowling Green (16-14) on senior night, 75-59.
OU had a very balanced scoring attack, yet again, with 5 players in double digits, with Teyvion Kirk and Mike Laster leading the way with 16 each. Bowling Green's Demajeo Wiggins led all scorers with 18 points, where he also added 15 rebounds for a double-double.

Right now we are the 10 seed. Miami is the 7 seed. Could play Miami twice to end the season.

The Bobcats will travel to Miami for their first round MAC Tournament game on Monday. Although they defeated Miami twice this season, the Redhawks played a better overall conference season, thus earning a higher seed.

Re: 2017-18 Ohio Bobcats Men's Basketball
A disappointing season finally came to an end yesterday for the Bobcats (14-17), as they fell to Miami (16-16) on the road in the first round of the MAC Tournament. Although OU did sweep the Redhawks in the regular season, Ohio had no answers when it finally counted, falling 68-55.
Leading a balanced scoring attack for the Bobcats was Mike Laster with 16 points. Darrian Ringo led the Redhawks and all scorers with 21 points.
Ohio will look to be much improved next year, as they lose 4 seniors, but only 2 of them that actually get playing time.

Agreed, the girls team is playing better, think they'll win the MAC tourny? I know they can, but don't know if they will.
