Tri-Valley 48 Logan 7

Post by teach1coach2 »

I can't believe I have to wait 9 months for high school football to start again.

Tri-Valley has some linemen returning, but for the most part will be replacing all the "skill positions". TV should still be a solid team that challenging for an MVL title the next couple years. (John Glenn should be really good the next few years as well.)

Logan?

Logan will be opening the season with the Division III state runner-up for the second time in four seasons.

In between there they opened with DI playoff qualifiers. But hey, narrative and all that.....

Hard to know what Logan will have. The program is a shell of what it was the last time we faced the Scotties.

A lot of people, including myself, expected last year to be a foundation for a rebuild. But a 3-7 record - with many of the 7 losses being blowouts - did not restore confidence.

Logan lacks an identity on either side of the ball. Figuring that out will be challenge number 1 for the Chiefs.

They will return a decent group of players, but that was also true heading into last fall.

Logan could have beaten Athens last year if a few in game adjustments would have been made, but they wasn't. But this is not an Athens thread Raider.

Nope, never made the playoffs. However, we do not run around thinking we are something we are not.

I wouldn't expect the same Tri Valley as we have known with an all new coaching staff and losing all their skill players. Logan caught them at the right time it seems. I expect a competitive game and would be surprised if either team got blown out. Logan should improve a little this year with an older more mature team but I wouldn't expect any miracles.

So far, I hear little interest in the ‘18 season from the natives. No expectations. Worse, little interest. But that happens when you allow the program to fall into incompetent hands. Starting 4 Frosh one year, including a 140 lb. LB told me all I needed to know. The only question that remains is how embarrassed must they get before they are forced to do something to rectify the problem.
