Piketon @ Minford scrimmage 8/10/18

Post by mlittle »

Minford puts together a nice drive on their first 10 plays and score on the 10th play of the drive on about a 10 yard out. Now Piketon’s offense will take the field

Just a scrimmage but have to wonder is Minford that much improved or Piketon not up to snuff because they've got some players on the offensive side and for them not to be moving the ball makes me wonder.

Piketon didn’t look good at all. I know it’s just the first scrimmage but they look soft on both sides of the ball. Minford looked to have a few solid skill players and moved the ball really well

Not good considering Piketon does have the players to be able to move the ball and struggling like that against a team that will go .500 isn't a good sign. Sounds like Piketon is going to have to go back to the drawing board.

I agree. We were missing our #1 receiver but still had enough to move the ball better.

Was definitely a rough first scrimmage, but it was exactly that, a first scrimmage. Hopefully see some quick improvements for our second scrimmage this coming Friday

Piketon lost a lot from last year but it’s a scrimmage and they will get it going. As for Minford they have some good players back one being inside linebacker (Luke lindamood) that led team in tackles! So Minford went with volgolsong-Lewis? This is going to start some noise but hope they get thru it and carry this on to next game up!

Maybe someone else can clear it up on who started. I know they had a lefty in there a lot. I thought he started but maybe not. Both quarterbacks looked solid

My biggest take away was the improvement of the offensive line. I know it was one scrimmage but compared to last year much much better up front. Add in a very skilled running back quick strong and top end fast should make for a great year running the ball. Both the QBs looked really good I believe Kelly started but they spilt the 10 play series 5 plays each I believe and spilt the down and distance. Defense looked very good and few blown coverages but they will be fine. Hated to see Darius Jordan sidelined with a injury hopefully everything goes well with his recovery he would’ve have been one the best players in the conference on both sides of the ball.

Why aren’t the Piketon kids coming out for football?
Coach Gullion seems to do a nice job there.

Obviously more going on behind the scenes than what any of us know.
