Still, being undefeated, I figured they would crack the top 25 in Joe Eitel's DVII state ranking.

Things will start to clear up soon due to common opponents.

Trimble and Waterford are in the same conf.
HP, FC, and Rosecrans are in the same conf.
FC plays Crestline this week; Lucas plays Crestline on 9/28

This will shine a little more light on our discussions.

True. Waterford will have their shot to show out vs Trimble.

Anything can happen on any given day, however, that Lucas vs Crestline game could get ugly. Lucas trounced them last season 53-8. Lucas is returning almost everyone and Crestline had an All-Ohioan playmaker transfer to Willard. They have very small numbers.

Harvest Prep beat Franklin Heights, but it’s hard to draw a ‘groundbreaking’ conclusion from it. The HP running back who went 228 and three TD’s on 21 touches took an injury to the hip in practice this week (I’m told it’s a hip pointer?) and supposedly didn’t play. But, the Franklin Heights QB broke his leg in the first quarter as well.

Prep should still be the favorite to win the MSL-Cardinal. 20-0 shutout tonight. Just don’t know if they’re the top dog in what could be a brutal Region 27... at least, just yet.

Anytime you shutout a DII school it looks good. Could be another blowout win vs DII for them again this week. Mifflin has been getting spanked so far to start their season.

Looking at Trimble's schedule, it appears only one game looms large for them. Waterford.

Lucas will have a tough road game at 2-0 Northmor (DVI). A win will snag them up considerable points. They follow them up with a 2-0 (DVI) Troy Christian and a 1-1 Columbus Centennial (DIII). A lot of potential points coming up for the Cubs.

Waterford vs Fort Frye should be a dandy.

Apparently when you looked at Trimbles schedule you over looked the week 5 matchup against Cincinnati Christian Hills Academy.

Valid point. That matchup could be rough. We'll see how it shakes out. Things will start becoming clearer after this Friday.

OHSAA Division VII, Region 27
2018 Unofficial Rankings
Latest update: 9/3/2018 2:11:20 PM EDT

1) Canal Winchester Harvest Prep (2-0) 5.9000
2) Lucas (2-0) 4.2500
3) Lancaster Fisher Catholic (2-0) 4.1000
t4) Franklin Furnace Green (2-0) 4.0000
t4) Glouster Trimble (2-0) 4.0000
6) Racine Southern (2-0) 3.7500
t7) Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans (2-0) 3.5000
t7) Willow Wood Symmes Valley (2-0) 3.5000
t7) Waterford (2-0) 3.5000

Drew Pasteur has Franklin Furnace Green ranked LAST in Region 27? Their schedule must be garbage.

That's funny about Green, i see that too. Weird.

This is a big points week for Waterford, Fort Frye is carrying a pretty good amount of pts and will continue to build on that throughout the season. Will be a tough yet valuable week for Waterford. Fort Frye won in a close game last season.
Danville's is the same boat. This is a very valuable week for them also pts wise, plus they just need a win, period. A win over Garaway would be HUGE for this years team and might get them on track for the playoffs.
Rosecrans is another one that has a very valuable game this week. Grandview Heights carries a lot of pts. It might to too much for Rosecrans but we'll see.
And finally, the Lucas vs Northmor game will be big for Lucas if they pull it off. Actually, this game is worth a lot of pts for both sides. Northmor beat them last yr but it doesn't look like they've had tough competition yet this season, not sure what they really have. Will be a great test for both teams.

Others:
Trimble, Harvest Prep, & Southern should all roll. Fisher Catholic's and Green's games don't count.

Last year vs Lucas, Northmor stuffed the Lucas run game and Demetrius Johnson ran for 296 yards with 3 long TD runs. He was the OHSAA Central District Division VI Player of the Year in 2017. He is gone to graduation. However, Northmor will still play stout D. In saying this, I think the Cubs have too much firepower and will win this rematch. Grover is running the ball well for Lucas. 400 yards through two games. Cannot wait for Friday. We will see. GO CUBS.

Green has played a team so far that hasn't won a game in at least 5 years in Hannah don't know much about the other team they beat.

That explains it! Pasteur is giving them no credit what-so-ever. They even dropped 86 points. lol.

Crestline was pretty underwhelming. Although a decently sized line, they were dominated by us. QB looked halfway decent, but he was eaten alive by us. The game was effectively over by halftime.

Ridgedale for us next week. Berne Union in week five for us may be the first true “litmus test.”

I know what you mean. Berne Union and Harvest Prep look to be your two toughest challenges. Your game vs. HP week 9 will be an interesting one. Both of you should be undefeated at that point. Do you know much about them? I know they lost their RB.

Harvest Prep has a ferociously fast defense. They have a good north/south running game, but they’ll come right at you as well. QB play is shaky.

“In Region 27, tonight...” [Skip Mossick voice]

Rosecrans, Green and Waterford all play winless opponents.

In the “Game of the Week”, for its implications on playoff seeding, Lucas makes the horrifically long drive to 3-0 Troy Christian.

The “Win to Stay In” game will have an A and a B-side; Berne Union travels to Grove City Christian in a battle of 2-1’s. Meanwhile, Miller makes the long trip to the River to take on sleeper team 3-0 Racine.
