That’s awesome. Our players are very fortunate to be around players who have seen the talent they have. People like Antonio Brown, Khalil Mack, Greg Jennings, Michael Turner, Antonio Gates, Roethlisberger...you get it. I’m not saying it’s a “Power 5,” but make no mistake there’s plenty of talent in the conference.

Agree it likely wouldn’t have mattered which players were out there for Minford. Burg JV players were in the game with 8:00 to go in the 2nd period

Minford won't win a conference game. 6-4.

8 starters would make a little difference maybe a score or two offensively but I was very impressed with the Mathews kid he is fast.

So all week up until yesterday it was five starters out and tonight after the game I’ve seen 10 and 8 starters out. So which is it?

At this rate with the injuries, Minford might struggle to get that 7th win.
A lot of injuries makes it tough. And those left behind then get beat up. Hard to recover from.
Yep. Minford was definitely a much better team before the injury but hit.

Depends if you're talking about what starters they lost throughout the year or just in the last week. 5 probably in the last week and more than 10 for the year I'm sure.

No excuses. Burg is the best southern Ohio team this year. Injuries or no injuries.

oldschoolqb13 wrote: Fri Oct 12, 2018 2:51 pm Make no mistake, you don't go to "an OU type of school" unless you are a big-time player. It cracks me up that people around here think of them like it's Rio. Get real dude! How many guys in this area have EVER played at an "OU type of school?" SMH
No doubt...playing at a MAC school or any other D1 school is an accomplishment that not many around here ever experience.

As for this game, Burg proved they are on a different level once again. Starting to think they won't be tested again until Regional Finals against Middletown Madison.*

Impressed with Burt's focus. No let down after a big win on the road last week.

Anyone see Eitel? If the playoffs started this week Burg would be hosting Portsmouth and West would be hosting Minford.

Portsmouth/Ironton game is more than likely going to determine who makes the playoffs out of those two. Going to be an exciting last two weeks. Quite a few teams from our area have the possibility of making the playoffs

According to Pasteur Ironton is essentially already a lock to make the playoffs. I’d say if anything that Ironton/Portsmouth game could determine if Ironton is hosting a playoff game or not. Portsmouth looks like they would have to win out and get a little help to make it.

Burg at minford JV game cancelled tomorrow. Doesn't surprise me with all the injuries minford is dealing with right now.
