Waverly 43 Minford 13

Post by smurray »

West handled Minford and Waverly handled West - does that make a difference in this one?
Will Minford still have several players out for this one? Will they get any original starters back?

Waverly has to realize they’re in playoff mode right now. We can’t afford to lose in our region, so every game is huge.

They both have there fair share of injuries to quite a few key players this year. Waverly really showed me something tonight to come back and put that many pts on the board, against a normally pretty strong defensive team. I think the Tigers regained there confidence tonight, and I know its 1 game at a time, but I think it will take a heck of an effort to beat them the rest of the year.

Waverly's passing game wins this one.

Both teams really banged up, Waverly can't have a let down game after the huge win against West. I'll take Waverly 42-14

Agree with fanosports, waverly's passing game will be too much.

Hopefully it doesn’t rain and the field is in good shape.

As we've seen, motivation and energy plays a huge role. Never bigger than last night. Waverly can not afford any let down at all. We will have to be as prepared and determined as we were against West.

Looking for our seniors to make sure the team is focused and ready to take on the Falcons. Every game is a playoff game for here on out.

Some reports say Shanks was under the weather a bit. So if he feels better I think he has a big night. I don't think MInford's DBs can match up and contain the Waverly skill players on the outside.

Yes, Shanks was sick - not a bad night being sick. I didn’t see his stats yet. Threw for 4 TD’s and had to be over 300 yards.

I fill if the tigers come in to this game focused. Like they were against west. Then Minford is going to have a bad night.
Waverly 42
Minford 14

Go tigers

smurray,
I wasn't trying to say Shanks had an "off-night" vs. West I think he played one of his better games. I am just saying I hope he gets feeling better and he should have a big night in Muletown.

No, I didn’t think you were saying that.
I was just confirming it and praising him for
the job he did while playing sick.

I think the last two games are pretty much "play-in" playoff games for the Tigers, but this one carries 26.5 second level points. Minford will be psyched up for this game. It is senior night, they are fighting for a playoff chance and it's at Minford. Waverly needs to clean up the special teams game, the Tigers did a lot better penalty wise vs. West and played with a renewed fire. I think all the Tigers need to do is stay focused, take care of business and let all of us on here worry about the playoff picture.

Unfortunately for Minford what was a big start to the season I believe they're going to find themselves at 6-4 and watching the playoffs.

Eitel has got them listed and controlling their own destiny, so it's simple for Waverly win and you're in. Couple big games left from some of the other teams ahead of them in the standings as to where Waverly will be playing at and the opponent.

Correct, Waverly controls their own destiny. Win out and they are in at 9-1. 8-2 may not get them in.....
Playoff birth (3rd year in a row) is on the line. Tigers need to be as focused for this one as they were West.
These young Tigers are playing to make history - Waverly has never played in the playoffs 3 years in a row.

Always tough traveling to Minford, plus it being senior night will not make it any easier. The Falcons will be coming out ready to prove that they are still no team to be taken lightly. I'm sure the seniors for Minford would love nothing more than to spoil the Tigers season.
I see where some are saying the Falcons may be kinda banged up? Who all could possibly be out come Friday?
I know the Tigers are down as well. It seemed like Marquez may have re-aggravated his ankle again vs West, any updates on him if so?
