countywide35 wrote: Sun Oct 28, 2018 4:20 pm As said. I would say Jackson will travel well as they typically do with plenty of fans. Solid football team. And the band is hands down one of if not the best you will see all year. It’s November and still playing football!
This isn’t the forum but Granville band is the best I’ve heard all year.

This will be a fun game. Jackson has improved with experience against this type of offense/QB. I wish they were an unga bunga running team but Jackson will have to be disciplined and excellent against a quick and creative offense.

Jackson has really good cababilities on offense and will need to make plays.

Will watch.
From my band director days I can tell you .....Jackson’s band is very good. But no wear close to the best in the state. We’ve got the Lakota’s, mason, grove city, Granville, Johnstown Monroe, Pickerington’s, Dublin Jerome, Brecksville (where Mr. Rex went), Washington court house and so many more.

Again I’m not taking anything away from Jackson.....they are very good and I definitely enjoy watching them. I remember a fan behind me at a Jackson game said that Jackson had probably the biggest band in the state. I can assure you there are bands in the state with 300-400 members. Jackson has 162.

Aside from band,

I think Jackson will do well this game. If their defense can play like they did last week....they can hang with Granville.

Chillicothe and Granville not similar on offense are they? If your offense isn’t a balanced attack with maybe a spread....Jackson’s defense is great. Excellent QB’s in an open field and wide offense are not their forte...but have adjusted and have some experience with it.

I think our offense will decide win or lose

True! They’re are not similar. What I meant when I said like they played last week was......coming in knowing and exciting the kind of play to get the job done!

Hearing he is the coach scares me more than their great QB

Granville has a stud running back who was injured and did not play until week 9. He takes the offense to another level.

Weather looks good for the game, if Granville just added a stud RB to the mix just adds to the problems of stopping the offense. Going to take Granville by 17

If adding a stud RB you still have to call it wisely. I fully trust Jackson’s ability to limit a very good RB...but if you have creative play calling that’s tough to predict and execute good pass plays and timely QB runs...that’s a tall task for any high school offense.

Good luck Jackson! After getting a couple injured kids back, and playing a bang-up defensive game last week, I just have a feeling that you're going to go up there and play one heck of a ballgame.

High school athletics isn't on the priority list there as it is in most smaller communities in Ohio. They have great schools and academic scores though and It's probably around 75/80% college educated yuppies (doctors, lawyers, educators and such) with Denison right there and most work in Columbus, Newark and New Albany. They have high home prices, taxes, etc. and are basically a affluent bedroom community of Columbus even though they are in Licking county that would compare to a smaller version of Bexley , Upper Arlington and Dublin in Columbus.

** You ain't gonna find many pickup trucks ,carhartts, boots or blue jean wearing people there**

That’s all fine but sounds like they’ll be sitting with them though.

I didn't think Jackson would beat Chilli, but they proved me wrong so I won't bet against them Again. if Granvillie has a stud RB will they try the same strategy on defense that was used against Hillsboro? I know they lost that game but I still think they did a good job with the hoss of a RB.

D has been improving every week. Going to be tough but it can be done.
I agree!! Johnstown is a run down your throat team and we lost to them early in the year. We still ran on them, but their defense is a lot better than they get credit for.
