What will the SHAC bring this year in girls basketball?

Will anyone be able to Challenge Eastern Brown? Eastern lost some good players but got another transfer that had a big year for Batavia last year. I think she will fit in nicely and help them make another run. Well coached team that scouts well and game plans well.

Does North Adams bring enough back this year to challenge Eastern Brown for the title? The Lady Devils bring back a lot of scoring and we know they are very well coached.

Peebles with Justice seems to be the popular pick in the small school division, but watch out for an improving Manchester team with a quality young big.

What is your predictions in the big school and the small school divisions?

A lot of talented players in the SHAC, led by D1 signees Peyton Scott and Alexa Pennington. Lots of young talent emerging as well, with 3 freshmen making all league and all district last year and look for a few more from that 2021 class to emerge this year as well. Should be another exciting year with both divisions being dogfights between the top 3 teams in each division.

This is my best guess, but any of the top three could finish 1 through 3.

Big School:

1. Eastern Brown: excellent coaching, quality guards and returning all league players led by Pennington
2. Lynchburg: Peyton Scott...'nough said. No offense to anyone else, but she's the best player in the district...BY FAR.
3. North Adams: could finish 1st, but I put them here because the two above have senior leadership. NA is talented though with Harper and Co.
4. WU: if they can stay healthy & if Cox plays.
5. Ripley: no team plays harder, they compete every night. They'll sneak up and beat a few people.

Small School:

1. Peebles: Justice will score over 20 a night, but there's a lot of quality athletes around her.
2. Fairfield: lost Shope, but Canon will fill the void. Young talent coming as well.
3. Manchester: New coach & new "system" will help but will take time. Hard to overcome the loss of Cox, though.
4. Fayetteville: loss of Margo hurts here as well. Murphy is a talented guard who can cause havoc.
5. Whiteoak: similar to Ripley, will play hard. Just not quite enough talent.
