That 14 point swing was the game. Athens looked in control of the game and throw an interception in the end zone that was returned deep into Athens terrority. I wouldn't be surprised if Hartley wins state. Good luck Hawks

Hartley #1 Rb Jalen January was gimpy last week and only played part of the first half before Coach Birchfield rested him and 2nd stringer Marcellus Parker was out completely. That was the 3rd stringer Keiran Anderson next man up that did most of the damage tonight. Hartley won't win state this year, too many injuries.

Were u even at the game? He ran almost every play for Hartley

They will get to the state title game. Region 9 sucks this year.

January #12 didn't play half the game time wise in the backfield. Anderson #34 replaced him and Fleming #2 is a qb and db by trade and isn't a RB. Hueser #8 is the qb.

Congrat Athens! Mistakes and a few turnovers can really turn the game around. You deserved to be there, you gave it your all. You had a great year, next year take that next step.

You're a joke, man. Think I read in a previous thread that you're retired? Really mature of you to bash a school/team over and over and over. Polluting every thread. Sad life, man, sad life.

But It's fine when smaller league teams are beaten just as bad as this every year, right ?

I think he's pointing out that nobody gets on here and actually cheers when the team is getting beat by 30, FAN. I mean, it is kind of classless when referring to high school kids. Cheer for a team to win - fine. Gloat & cheer for a team to lose - not cool.

The kids on that team play their hind ends off every week like most high school kids do and leave it on the field with blood, sweat and tears year after year and are very skilled and good at what they do so I'm NOT "referring" to them in any way , shape or form. As far as cheering on a team to lose when they're down 30 is not correct. On this thread during the game i made 2 posts that referenced a score, at 7-0 and when it was 24-14 so i don't know where you got that. I'll leave it at that. Classless is putting a running clock on 4 teams and almost 3 others during regular seasons playing teams in smaller divisions. Someone needs to look in the mirror. Have a good day :D

Look in the mirror? I'm not a coach, I have absolutely nothing to do with the team. Heck, I only got to see Athens play a few times this year.

I see my 56-7 prediction was close. No surprise. Was expected. Athens hiding in a weak league gets exposed.

Athens piled up 171 first half yards and was going in to make it a 3-point deficit at half - before the INT that swung the momentum the other way.
The end result was similar, but Athens actually competed against the Hawks better than Wheelersburg did earlier in the year.
Its all good though, beat Logan for the 2nd consecutive year - so 2018 was a success.

8/31 H Wheelersburg (9-1) W 51-20
9/7 H Bishop Ready (4-6) W 49-19
9/14 H Chillicothe (7-3) W 49-10

How did a tougher schedule help the Burg, Ready and Chilli vs Bishop Hartley?

The Hawks put up 45 points on Northeast power Hoover out of the Federal League. Scored only 6 more on Athens.
