I-Town has some work to do but the talent is there for sure. They did drop big leads the last three games everyone is saying it is player inexperience but it could also be some coaching inexperience issues, everyone knows coaches make adjustments on the fly to help win games, I never really seen that with Ironton. I do believe that they will be be atop the OVC with Coal Grove next year. CG returns the entire O and D-Lines as well as their leading rusher sophomore A Stapleton/ basically same thing at Ironton. Look for one of these teams to make it through the OVC undefeated the other with one loss.

Good-Luck in the offseason to all the OVC teams/ conference is on the rise for sure but you have to work hard to get there.

Not an Ironton fan but I pay attention to them just because of friends in the area.
Carrico returning is the biggest key to that team, he had a little trouble fumbling the ball this season but I can guarantee you Pendleton will have that fixed before next season starts. I seen the exact same thing with Cunningham at fairland. His younger years he fumbled A LOT. His senior season I went to every game but 1 and did not see him put the ball on the ground once.

Carrico is player 1b in the OVC with 1a being Parker. Parker has 1 more year Carrico having two.
Carrico has the size, talent and speed to run completely through the entire conference next year. I look forward to watching Ironton and that young man run the ball the next two seasons and will probably attend a few games when my Dragons are out of the area.

Good luck next season Tigers!

St you represent Fairland very well on here. Your remarks are knowledgeable and always delivered as constructive criticism rather than mean spirited comments. I enjoy reading you and I think I know who you are lol. If you are who I think you are I've always enjoyed talking to you even when you were young. Keep up the astute observations.

I do not know how any Ironton fan could have watched this year and not be excited about the future for the Fighting Tigers. As far as Burg, they currently for sure have the best program within one hundred miles of here now. Nothing but respect for them. That sure doesn't mean they're coming to Tank Stadium and notching up yet another win next year. I believe we will defeat them next year.

The Tigers have a lot of talented young returners the next couple of years. I also believe they have a very promising YOUNG coach who'll be a lot better next year. (He may tweak his staff some too) If the entire team all play with just half the heart that Reid Carrico has, watch out competition!!

LOVE THOSE FIGHTING TIGERS!!

I agree, a lot of young players got good playing time this year. Three big Freshmen Linemen was great to see, they played really good. We should see some great Football out of the Fighting Tigers the next few years.

Little early for that kind of talk. Learn to finish games first. You guys did play Johnstown tough so I’ll give you that.

Ironton will only have 3-4 guys playing both ways nex year so the depth will be as good as it’s been in 15 years.

With Carrico and Salyers both back, the offense will be very solid. I also think they return a lot of kids on D. Might make a run next season and play Burg tough yet again.

Ironton returns 17 starters on O and D plus both kickers.

Have to replace 2 lineman, and TE on offense

1 LB, and Corner on D...

Majority of starters were sophomores. Both Sophmore and Junior classes are strong. Also the incoming freshman is loaded with talent.

I expect Ironton to continue its resurgence to the top in Southern Ohio.

The three Freshmen Linemen this year were pretty impressive with two of them playing a lot, they'll fill in nicely for the two leaving. I hear the incoming Freshmen class is pretty good as well.

Week one will be a huge game next year. But it won’t be the game of the year. Too early in the season for all that. If it were week 10. Yes. Week 14 would be the game of the century. It’s all about placement. 😂

Ironton will definitely be a common name in DV throughout next year. I like the direction they are going.

I would think Ironton is the youngest team in D5 this year that made the playoffs. So I would think they would be one of the favorites to make a run next year. The staff seems to be doing everything right and building our historic program back rather quickly. I think we will see the Fighting Tigers return to our glory days

Yes that first game will be something heck of a first game for a greenhorn qb

Week 14 game of century at Jackson gonna need that new expansion.

I wanna scrimmage both of you this year can we get that done. ✅
