OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
THIS WILL BE A TOUGH ONE IN EAST LANSING SATURDAY. THE UP AND DOWN SPRATANS ARE PUTTING THINGS BACK TOGETHER. AND THE UP AND DOWN BUCKEYES SCARETHE BEGEEZERS OUT OF ME. WE HAVE
SO MUCH TALENT, BUT INCONSISTENT PLAY HAS KILLED THEM. IF THEY STRING TOGETHER 4 GOOD QUARTERS, THEY COULD BE HARD FOR ANYONE TO BEAT. AND WE CANNOT BE LOOKING AHEAD ANY. SPARTY, THE TERPS, AND THE WOLVERINES BACK TO BACK TO BACK IS A FULL PLATE FOR ANYBODY.
LOOKING AHEAD A BIT I THINK AFTER WATCHING THE LSU/BAMY GAME. I DON'T THINK ANYBODY BEATS BAMY THIS YEAR. ONLY 2 TEAMS WITH A LEGIT SHOT LOOK LIKE CLEMSON AND MICHIGAN TO ME RIGHT NOW. BUT THAT IS WHAT EVERYONE THOUGHT IN 14 AND WE TOOK BAMY AND OREGON DOWN.

Blue collar Sparty. Coached up three star players including Ohio kids who got little or no consideration from Urban Meyer and Ohio State. We all know about the woes of the 2018 Buckeyes. Sometimes motivation wins out over superior talent. Throw in some November weather and the Spartans win 31-16.

say it hain't so omega. this will definately be a tough game for the struggling buckeyes. it's according to which team shows up for both teams. dantonio loves to give urban fits bordering on near panic attacks, and he got that smirky grin.hope to turn that into a frown fo sure. I hope the right bucks team shows up. because sparty will be ready. you can take that to the bank, and cash it.

Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
When OSU players start to give perfect effort on every play then things can change. Maybe it is the problem of having a Casino so close to them. As the OSU players instead of using skill and technique they gamble to much. White did come in and play well and showed he wanted to be on the field with some excitement. The players are betting on making some big plays during the game and just hanging on. Instead of doing all the little things right and adding big plays. So they play an entire game to win. I remember not long ago OSU have the second team offensive line going in the game early for a series. No depth at offensive line does not push the first team to play at a high level. Who would think that OSU would not be able to have LB's playing in the right position Werner. Which was not caused by injuries to LB's.
The Spartans go out and play ball. They are playing and doing the little things right. Not as talented on paper but the have the drive and desire to play. As this game is going to be maybe in the upper 30's or low 40's. The majority of OSU players are good weather players. It will take a team effort for OSU to win which we haven't really seen this year.

I dont see the Buckeyes pulling this one out. And if they lose at Sparty it could spiral as a three game losing streak to end the season. At Maryland wont be a cake walk for the Buckeyes.
It just sickens me this is happening with all the 4 & 5 star athletes.

that was a great post. but I still say if the right buckeye team shows up they can drill sparty. the trouble is they have looked very vulnerable all year, and teams are wanting some instead of thinking oh snap, can we just get this one over. and urbans antics are being reflective in panicky play and lack of confidence. I love the guy, but get your head out of the you know what man, and lead this team to victories.farmer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 5:23 pm When OSU players start to give perfect effort on every play then things can change. Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
They will beat Maryland.
Haskins may have to throw the ball a gazillion times but OSU will score 21+ points which should be enough to win. The key will be can this floundering OSU defense keep the big plays in check and keep MSU from out scoring them.
MSUs Qb Lewerke is on the hot seat for his recent poor play. Translation- he may have a career day against OSU's defense lol.
I will predict:
OSU 24
MSU 21
The game that REALLY scares me is ttun. Not sure how we play them tough up front defensively at the point of attack to win the game. OSU has won 13 of the last 16 against ttun. As bad as I hate to say, the way they are playing up there right now is scary when you look at how awful our defense is playing.
Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
Now a story going around is Haskins has talked with Shae Patterson about tips against the Spartans. Which really should not be much if the Buckeyes do their scouting and film studies. Like that is a real story. All the off the field crap doesn't matter because OSU must show up on the field to play every play. Which is what everyone can see. Diehard Fans of the Bucks included.

I haven't been the biggest Meyer fan this year but he tends to win in November. I think this is a coming out party. Using 3 tight ends as kind of jumbo package gets yards and time of possession for the Bucks. Sparty can't take advantage of the backers like other teams we played.
May you live in interesting times- ancient Chinese curse
Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
One thing to think about Meyer is that he was only at Bowling Green and Utah for 2 years each. Then he won at Florida but after getting his recruits only. Things did not go as well toward the end of his time there. Part of that was his health trouble. Which seems the stress has gotten to him some this year as well as on the players. Where players at Florida and Ohio State just didn't seem to be fully involved in the games. The big point I am making is some coaches do well in short periods of time but need to move on to the next challenge.

I heard yesterday on espn yesterday that Michigan state is number 1 defense in the country against stopping the run

Which probably means Meyer and company are likely to come up with a game plan that is run heavy, forgetting Haskins and his golden arm (sarcasm).YOU'RE TIGER BAIT wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 6:10 am I heard yesterday on espn yesterday that Michigan state is number 1 defense in the country against stopping the run
We will never know what the 2018 Buckeye locker room is like, but I would venture a guess therein lies the roots of Ohio State's performance problems.

If White don't start, I'm gonna lose it. He's been the only DB this year to show the instincts to make plays.
Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
White shows he wants to be on the field. Other players could learn a lot from White just the way he plays. His dad was the same way.
Saw where the Buckeyes are a 60% chance to win.

Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
I agree. We watched Fuller and Pryor take bad angles, miss tackles and get lost in pass coverage all year. This guy comes in and plays like the B1G defensive back of the year.
I wonder how many better LB's are standing on the sideline that never see time due to Werner and Tuff stinking up the field?
Schiano made the comment a couple of weeks ago that these struggling players have been doing everything right in practice but not doing it in games. Thats such a BS response. I would have to think that White has also been doing in right in practice and we just saw him carry that over to playing well in the game.
Overall, this team and more so the coaching staff is just full of sh!t. They cant fix these glaring issues but continue to put the struggling players out on the field. Do they not realize how stupid they look when a guy like White goes out and DOMINATES? Do they not think us fans think "why has he been over on the sidelines and we have been watching this junk on the field through the first 8 games?".
I am over the loyal to a fault, stubborn coaching mentality of Urban and his staff. It all starts with Urban. This has been his weakness as a coach. He will stick with a struggling player or coach until they either get hurt or they get another coaching job lined up. He never pulls the trigger. The team performance suffers due to it. Eventually these weak links break the chain as we have seen in the losses to Purdue, Iowa, MSU and Clemson over the past few years.
That is the difference in Urban compared to Dabo and Saban. They make changes to better the team to win and we know its all about winning in college football.

I don't care if a player sleeps through practice, if he's the best player on Saturdays, he should be playing.

The College football land won't be surprised... if the Spartans takes this one... against an overrated Buckeye team and coach....
Re: OHIO STATE BUCKEYES @ MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS, WHAT SAY YA'LL.
Some players are practice players and some just play better in games. Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't matter in practice as it does in games. This late in the season some second team players should be getting some playing time. Since Warner and Boland under perform in games. It also could mean that practice are not pushing the players enough, Coaches should have LB's ready to play in case a player gets ejected for targeting. Just like getting White on the field.
