Yes, I heard he really gets after it on defense - would be great with Remington and Marquez causing havoc.
I was just talking to someone about football for next year and the need for the guys to add some weight and strength. Shoe will be even tougher to deal with if he adds 10-15 pounds along with strength and even faster.
I don’t want to miss anybody and there may be a few others come out but I think its safe to say here is most of the varsity roster:
Cody Remington (12)
Cobe Marquez (12)
Easton Wolfe (12)
Ethan Dunn (12)
Trevor Penrod (12)
Tanner Smallwood (11)
Phoenix Wolfe (10)
Haydn Shanks (10)
Zeke Brown (10)
Gage Wheeler (10)
Trey Robertson (9)
Will Futhey (9)
Not sure about Zach Brown and the timeframe of his recovery.
GONNA INSERT A NAME INTO THE ROSTER. WORD TONIGHT SHOEMAKER IS PLAYING - FOOTBALL PLAYERS REPORT TOMORROW.
Cody Remington (12)
Cobe Marquez (12)
Easton Wolfe (12)
Ethan Dunn (12)
Trevor Penrod (12)
Tanner Smallwood (11)
Peyton Shoemaker (11)
Phoenix Wolfe (10)
Haydn Shanks (10)
Zeke Brown (10)
Gage Wheeler (10)
Trey Robertson (9)
Will Futhey (9)
That would be huge if Shoemaker is playing, I think he gives them more depth and the ability to maintain that fast pace. I think the big question mark for me at least is will they have any knock down shooters? Howell was that guy last year, other than that they really did not have another guy who could consistently make the three ball. I know Trey can shoot but it is unknown how much varsity time he will get, at least at the beginning of the season. There may be some other guys who can shoot the ball well and consistently that did not play varsity last year that I am unaware of tho. I know the Tigers will look to create turnonvers/missed shots on the defensive end so they can get out in transition and get easy buckets, but there will be times when they need to run their halfcourt set and I think having a few consistent shooters from deep could make this team extremely dangerous.
In addition to Howell, Waverly lost a good scorer and three ball threat in Adrian and then the season ending injury to Hoover really hurts. Landon hit some big shots last year and was expected to have a great season.
I think that is the biggest question mark entering the season, consistent scorers and 3 ball threats. Remington, Marquez & E. Wolfe will “create” but not sure they will be knocking down threes consistently. Of the three bigs (Dunn, Smallwood, Penrod), Penrod is most likely to nail threes. I hear Wheeler has been playing well which will be a plus.
Tigers are in a unique position where each guy on the roster has a chance of being included in the rotation, and I have 13 listed on the roster right now. That is almost unheard of.....
