Stadium was closed the day I was out to the school. When someone post a picture from top of the stadium it will show how much bigger this looks.

Why was the stadium closed...? When it and the school was under construction, the word was the community could use the track to walk on for exercise etc...Not around the area much anymore but was told by some they went out to walk and was told they was not aloud....Look for the same with this new build Chieftain Center when finished.... it will be locked up tighter than Fort Knox for use by the community....A tactic to get it built just as the other new digs.....Heard many are waiting to see the truth in anytime community use when it's finished....

Goodness, what a negative stance. How would he or anyone on here have those answers?

They were not allowed...

No one knows really...Just asking...More than once though people could not use the track to walk, way before this CC was even thought of.... Just hearing from others that they look for the same thing with this new CC....

I would say when you have people coming in doing things they aren't suppose to do, locking it up was a good thing to do. I was there on Sunday. The gates were close but I didn't go close enough to say it was locked. Just took that it was.

I wouldn't think it would be open to just anyone to come in when there is no one there. To have it open 24/7 it will have to have someone there and If they hire someone I'm sure someone will complain about the tax payers money. Wonder how many stadiums in high school are open to the public at all times?

I'm just glad we have the stadium we have for are sports and the same with the field house.

Vinton County’s stadium/track is open to the public. It’s never locked. I’m pretty sure NY stadium/track is open as well. Athens isn’t. Not sure about the rest of the TVC.

No It isn't scheduled to be finished until early spring. It wouldn't shock me if it would be a little later with all the rain we have had.

Big building! Somewhat awe inspiring every time I go out to the school. Hopefully the opportunity for community use will be as advertised.

I understand that's how they will make money for operating costs from community use. We will see how that works out. I hate that they had to chew off a big section of parking for it. :(
