Berne graduates their QB and RB, but return their line and a few studs. They have a very good coach who can develop talent over the offseason.

They can beat Alex. NY... probably not.
Alex isn't going to be as easy as you think. LOL

I seen where Trimble is now D6, but I did not see which region Lucas is in. Is the regional map available yet?
Lucas is in Region 25 along with Danville. This is the Region with Warren JFK and Cuyahoga Heights.

Without Lucas and Trimble in R27 what is everyone going to argue about? Lol.

This region now comes down to 2 teams: Harvest Prep or Shadyside

HP just needs to be able to survive that brutal schedule. They need 4 wins to make it, I think. But those wins also can’t be against a bunch of teams who will bum it up.

Shadyside is probably more likely to survive their gauntlet.

Even with that considered, we’ll still have posters interested in how slots 3-8 play out. Maybe MillSt is around, somewhere. There generally has been good intra-regional discussion on this region in the past.

Them and Lucas arguably have top-5 toughest schedules in D7.

The Lucas schedule! That was a hot topic 6 months ago. Lol.

But no, you are correct. The Lucas schedule is insanely difficult.

93Bulldog wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2019 10:14 pm Have you seen HP schedule yet? They moved up to the big boy division. Its brutal. I think they still get in, but by no means a lock to host. And Newark Catholic is a (3-7) football team a year ago that also plays a very tough schedule. I'm not counting on them as a lock either. Eastern has a lot more returning than Waterford, I have them as the 2nd best team in the Hocking heading into 2019.
Yeah, trust me, I’m well aware that Harvest Prep is no longer in the Cardinal. LOL. Re: schedules, yeah, I made note of it. Who knows if HP or NC will end up doing a Danville and missing with too too tough of a schedule.

I expect the MSL-Cardinal to have two teams in, but not three. BU and FC. Rosecrans does play Newark Catholic though, week one.

Not a whole lot of chatter so far for Region 27! This used to be an active and fun topic to be a part of. I guess no more Trimble = no more banter?

That’s what dnis had said on another site. I think HP and Shadyside are the two overwhelming favorites for sure, but I don’t think NC is going to play as much into the regional champion picture that some think. That, or I don’t think they’re any more of a threat to snipe HP or Shadyside in round 12 than, say, FC is. Just my opinion!

80% of last year's posts were Trimble/Lucas back-and-forths. Lol.

Fisher Catholic vs Lucas, Week 8! Looking forward to it! Should be a dandy! I watched Lucas scrimmage DVI Ashland Crestview today, they looked sharp. Especially on D.

I look forward to it. We have a really interesting game vs TCC week 1; TCC gained about 5 or 6 playmaker transfers from neighboring Tuscarawas Valley, so we have no idea what to expect out of them. I would have us -7 against them, though. Beat TCC and we have a good shot of being 7-0 heading into week 8 vs Lucas.

We graduated 14 seniors, although only half of them contributed. We return six three-year starters on offense, however including our three best backs, two good receivers and our QB. Should have another good line. We’ll get our points, but we’ll have a good idea of how we stand against the rest of Region 27 in that week 8 matchup vs the Lucas Cubs.

Well good luck to you guys!

The Lucas schedule is really hard to predict.

Week one @ DVII Danville (#33 MaxPreps), who knows. I believe we should beat them again, but they are well coached and perennially tough.
Week two @ DVI Centerburg, likely a win.
Week three vs DVI Northmor (#16 MaxPreps), toss up. They beat us last year, so we owe them.
Week four vs Troy Christian, should be a win at home.
Week five @ Willard and it starts getting real interesting. Willard, a DV school, could be a battle.
The last five weeks are very demanding.
Week six vs DVII Steubenville CC (#15 MaxPreps), tough one.
Week seven vs DII St. Charles, Not sure what to expect. They are WAY bigger than us.
Week eight @ your Fisher Catholic, not going to be easy.
Week nine @ DVI Leavittsburg LaBrae (#11 MaxPreps), really tough.
Week ten vs a really, really good DVI Lima CC (#4 MaxPreps), they want revenge.

Week 1 is in the books.

Harvest Prep lost in the final three minutes on a blocked punt, 13-12, to an Eastmoor team that won the Region 11 title. Shadyside whipped a Martins Ferry that made D5 playoffs last year.

Newark Catholic pulls out a stunning comeback at Ohio Northern against Edon. Green Wave was down 29-20 with eight minutes left. Fisher survived the Nightmare in New Philadelphia, beating D7 playoff entrant Tusky Central 28-14. The Irish ran for 400 yards, with the game-sealing touchdown coming on an 11-play, 92 yard drive that ate 6:30 minutes off the clock.

Shenandoah pulled out an exciting win at Malvern, Berne Union beat the brakes off West M. Southern, Eastern and Waterford all won big games on long road trips out west. Symmes Valley beat South Gallia. Green beat Dohn.

And how about Monroe Central beating D4 Union Local 21-0?
