What’s interesting to me, if it’s the same kid? Seeing the post on loosing
a player due to the family not being happy. This is such so disrespectful to all the other players on Notre dame team. Again, remember he was welcome back with open arms after he was going to transferred out last year! He was also given a captain role! So be a leader and lead the 2023 Notre dame to a SOC football championship! Enjoy your senior year and go down as a true Man!

He played biddy ball for ND last year, he goes to ND elementary school. Pendleton’s wife is a ND alum.

I didn’t know all that. Maybe I’m wrong and he might go to Notre Dame. All that is information I didn’t know and he must do whatever is best for him and his family.

Just curious, what kind of money would ND be able to offer? Would be Pendleton's first head coaching job, but has a few years of experience as well. Just wonder if it would be worth it money wise? But if not Pendleton, can anyone confirm applicants?

If he doesn’t get a job inside the building, the stipend would be in the 2,000-3,000 range.

Thanks, to my knowledge, he doesn't have an education degree? So not sure what kind of job he could get in the school? Wonder what he makes now at Ironton?

For most coaches..pay is in the 2k to 4k range. FB was quite a bit more. I know that for a fact.

The school would have some money to pay for an aide or intervention specialist, or whatever job title for ancillary ‘worker bee’ position in the school. It wouldn’t be much of a salary, and it wouldn’t be enough of a financial incentive to ditch public retirement.

This is always the one part of talent acquisition that is hard for schools like ND: the compensation package. They can’t go to a well of cash and write four-figure stipends to assistants, because the school itself can’t pull from their general fund to pay that out and their athletic department probably does not have that big of a budget to make it happen. There’s a comment that says ND can pay out a higher stipend to the football coach: ok, I don’t doubt that. But that higher number is likely the maximum the school can put toward the pay-outs of the program’s coaches itself — a hire can opt to take the sum all for himself, or divide it up to pay out to a couple guys for their time and gas as part of staff-building.

What’s plausible is you can get donors and people in the community to specifically earmark their donations as “this is go to the coaches”, or those people go outside of the school to pay directly. Both are fine, and realistic.

You do know an Intervention Specialist is a fully licensed position and has a full salary and requires a degree? Not just some ancillary job someone is just given off the street.

For those who know Pendleton know that his family has money and he is also a business owner, So money won’t be the issue, The only money issue I see would be for his assistant coaches and the type of players he would want to get in there. I know there are certain types of “scholarships” for kids who are interested in ND, Just don’t know how many?

If he is interested and ND has a “whatever you need to succeed” approach, Then it very well could happen. If it were to happen I think it’s bad for area schools as you would assume the talent would be plucked. It will be interesting to see what happens. If they don’t get him I think it will be someone in house already.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see Pendleton leaving Ironton he has a free hand at what he is building and is also Athletic Director.
He is building Ironton they he wants and now has a free hand At scheduling.
He just started Ironton Invitational In Football and that would be hard to walk away from.
He is getting all he wants in Ironton why walk away from something that he has worked so hard to obtain.

You are talking about his brother Trevon. Jerrod is who some people are wanting at ND

Vouchers is what you are referring to, and that going to be a huge issue for Pendleton at Notre Dame (if he is the guy). Not sure what high schools the vouchers apply to currently, but basically if your high school is in academic distress and you live in that district, your kid can go to Notre Dame for free. Those school districts will be the recruiting grounds for ND's next coach. Tuition at ND going to be a nonstarter for most kids in this area, so unless the kid qualifies for a voucher, it going to be a lot harder to get kids into ND than it was at Ironton.

Anybody from ND know what local school districts still qualify for the ND voucher program?*

The only HS that falls into the program currently is Portsmouth. Clay’s middle school is also on the list.

It’s the EdChoice Expansion, where income is a qualifier, that has kept ND’s numbers afloat.
