Western Brown a little bigger school that Jackson. They are pretty decent.

Seems like Western Brown has lost to a couple decent teams.
Jackson needs to continue to improve and stop turning the ball over. If they can cut out the mistakes, I think they should be fine and get win #3.
If the Ironmen do win this week, Andy Hall will tie Jim Reynolds for the most wins by a head coach at Jackson with 63.

Ironmen are improving each week. I think they get another W this week.

Re: WK4 (1-2) Western Brown @ (2-1) Jackson
Kind of off topic, but does anyone know what Jackson's non-league schedule looks like next year?
I had heard that Gallia Academy was going to be added back to the schedule. I'm assuming Wellston is still Week 1 and Wheelersburg will be Week 5. Any info on who might officially be penciled in for the other weeks? Jackson has an Open Date listed for Week 2 on the OHSAA website, so it seems like Weeks 3 and 4 might be filled. I had originally heard that Western Brown was a one-year deal, but not sure if we're making a return trip to their place next year.
Weeks 6-10 should be Chillicothe, Court House, Miami Trace, Hillsboro, and McClain, but not in that order.

I think Logan is also in there. Maybe Week 3? I hope we keep that match-up as long as we can.ironman02 wrote:Kind of off topic, but does anyone know what Jackson's non-league schedule looks like next year?

Wellston-Gallia-Logan-Burg and maybe Western Brown?
Re: WK4 (1-2) Western Brown @ (2-1) Jackson
Interesting. I thought orginally that GAHS was supposed to be Week 2, but with the Open Date still on the OHSAA website for that week, maybe that game is a different week. Definitely hope to see Logan remain on the schedule because it's a great rivalry, and they should be pretty good the next few years since so many young guys are getting experience for them this season.doubleplay643 wrote:

The only opening Logan has in 2017 is week 7 (same week as this year's Jackson game). I imagine Jackson will have a league game that week.
Logan's future schedules:
2017:
AT Dublin Jerome
VS Teays Valley
VS Meigs
VS Sheridan
AT Nelsonville-York
AT Athens
OPEN
VS Dublin Scioto
AT Hamilton Ross
VS Warren
2018:
OPEN
AT Teays Valley
OPEN
AT Sheridan
VS Nelsonville-York
VS Athens
OPEN
OPEN
OPEN
AT Warren
Hopefully we can get the Ironmen on there in 2018.

Well, maybe the rumblings I was hearing about the Logan game was Week 3 of 2018.
I agree it needs to be a high priority for these two schools to keep playing. It is such a great rivalry and tradition.
With respect to Week 4 of 2016 the Ironmen need to continue to keep playing well and if so I think we will improve to 3-1. I agree with the analysis on the Week 3 thread with respect to the play-off scenario we need to take the Burg or WW game. But for now one at a time and take care of business this Friday against Western Brown.

Did a little research on the Broncos. 60 total players, 7 srs, 21 jrs.
They seem to be a passing/Granville type team. In their 28-26 loss to Little Miami, they threw for about 250 yds on 35 attempts, rushed for about 90 yds, all the rush yds came from one player, assuming the RB.

Jackson 52
Western Brown 27
Offensive line was excellent. Farley surpassed 200 yards rushing and Caleb Storms was very very good running in the 2nd half.
Defense got it going late but really piled up some turnovers.

Agree, a lot of kids contributing to the win tonight and getting valuable time and experience. Farley with a big night.
Took a while to adjust defensively to Western Brown but second half they did just that. McCoy and the sophomore Reid Evans are very, very good corners. Too many players to name just playing good football.
The schedule ahead of them will just make them better also.

Sounds like the Ironmen played very well in the 2nd half, outscoring Western Brown 31-6 after the break. Congrats to the Ironmen, and also to Coach Hall for now sharing the all-time coaching wins record at Jackson with Jim Reynolds.
The Ironmen are 3-1, and now it's time to turn it up a notch. Next week at Wheelersburg is a HUGE game for Jackson!
