The floor @ SGHS is diffrent but it is not even close to being nice. It is a bunch of 2x4's standing on edge. It was poorly installed. The lines are not even strait. If a floor like that was installed today the contractor would not be payed.
New Boston's gym is the worst gym I have been in. You can't see anything but concrete beams.
I liked Ironton St. Joes small gym. Very small but nice. The concrete is art ,It has nice windows and was built to last.

The_Sports_Junky-that is what makes the place interesting. Just think it will only be used one or two more years. You like the dungeon at St. Joe? I have heard stories about the old gym at Waterloo and the shots through the rafters.

Dungeon? I like to think of it as an aquarium or "fish" tank, if you will.

I don't know what it is about the gym at Green. It's always had a hollow sound to it while someone dribbled. Very unique sound.

As a former Flyer who has played in all the old gyms in Lawrence County, I will take the "FISH" tank any day......
XandO, I was talking to BlindWhiteHat junior last nite at BDUBS and he told me he was a better player than the MailMan......any comment on that one.........

All-time athlete made reference to the old Otway, Rarden and so forth, I recall when the Scioto County tourny was played at the old Grant Gym, PHS home, when all the county schools played you can not believe how awesome it was. I sold popcorn for the school and did I ever get to see some games. This goes back into the dark ages but the spirit was every bit as intense as today!

I love New Boston's gym!
The actual bleachers aren't much, but that balcony and the unique style of the gym provides a great atmosphere to play in....the noise is always loud...NB definitely has home court advantage. There has been many great games in that gym. And many great players to come out of that gym.....such a great history there.
