Although just their second match of the season, it was an important one as the Buckeyes got a 3-1 (25-13; 20-25; 25-21; 26-24) victory over visiting Penn State. OSU was led by Jake Hanes with a big 28.5 points, in addition to his 24 kills. Sanil Thomas also had a solid 46 assists.

Penn State was led by 20 points from Calvin Mende.

Ohio State now has a big weekend coming up when they travel out west. They'll play at BYU on Thursday, and at Stanford on Saturday.

The Buckeyes took one on the chin last night on the road in Provo. They took on #5 BYU and fell 3-0 (25-20; 25-23; 27-25). OSU was able to push most sets pretty far, but weren't able to to actually clinch on of them. Jake Hanes put up 24 points for the Buckeyes. And Sanil Thomas tallied 30 assists.

BYU was led by Gabi Garcia Fernande's 18 points.

Ohio State will continue their road trip this weekend as they travel to Palo Alto to take on Stanford tomorrow.
