Columbus trailed 2-0 after three innings, and things looked bleak as the offense looked dead. Emmanuel Rodriguez singled to left to put the Saints (2-4) up 1-0 in the top half of the third. A bases-loaded walk to Mike Ford (Princeton) made this a 2-0 game after three. Columbus (6-2) cut the lead to2-1 on a sac-fly by Angel Martinez in the sixth. Columbus tallied a single run in the bottom of the ninth on a Petey Halpin single to force extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Will Brennan(Kansas State) singled to plate Halpin for the game winner.
