I think it's ironic that a lot of Ironton fans were saying that joining the OVC would probably keep the Tigers out of the playoffs when in fact it's the reason they're in.

I can remember 2-3 years ago, South Point beat Coal Grove in the preview game at Coal Grove and you thought they had won the state. The coach at that time was yelling "the reign is over". Later in the year CG dropped 50 on them.

I'm not sure what you saw but I thought the crowd was pretty good. They were lining the field and the scoreboard Dzongkha area was 3/4 deep.

The Grove will end up maybe 4-6 this year. They have played 3 home games and lost all of them, sounds like Ironton. The Grove will get wins over SP, RH (maybe), Fairview and Fairland. Now that's what I call power right!!!! It would not be a big surprise if the Grove and Ironton end up with the same...

I thought there was a display of both discipline and conditioning Friday night.

At the midnight practice there were probably around 45 - 50.

Ironton has weapons this year at reciever. They also have they same line as last year minus Sherman. This year's line has been working extremely hard. Practice starts Aug 1. CG is starting at 12:01 AM under the lights. Midnight Madness football style!

CG's success will begin and end with the defense. There are a number of athletes back that played on defense last year. Overall maybe one of the quickest teams they have had in a while.

How did CG look?
