Well, Coal Grove has a new football coach. Bryan Kidd.

Am I mistaken that just last year, fans were predicting the end of Ironton football as we know it. Even if they beat everyone in the OVC that's only 6 wins. Has there been a Lazarus moment in Ironton that we are now predicting 9 - 10 wins every year?

I don't necessarily want the Lucas's to be gone. I would like to see a defensive coordinator not named Lucas. I would like to see an in shape disciplined team on the field that does the fundamental things such as tackling correctly. I honestly believe we had the talent to be undefeated at this point...

You can't fire the players. It isn't a talent problem. It is a culture problem that stems from a lack of discipline and a hodgepodge coaching staff dominated by a single individual. I will say this, our kids are successful at the biddy league level and junior high but that success is not carried over to high school.

In my opinion, I don't think they cared about winning. Just working on the offense and the spread is something they have used from time to time.

It's been my experience that CG never looks good in this preview. Last year South Point beat them in the preview and then CG put up almost 50 points in the regular season match-up.

What's the other games at Coal Grove and what time do they start?

Let's hope they work on the tackling issue. Also it was good to see them get aggressive on defense the second half. Could not understand why our down lineman would just stand at the line of scrimmage and not rush the passer. The defense was much better when we blitzed the qb!
