Re: SVC Scores and Standings

Congrats to Unioto. Alot of young talent coming up through the ranks the next several years. Adena always a class act in girl's sports. Zane Trace always finds talent. Don't know what has happened to Huntington of late???

Re: Any top middle school teams that want a quality game???

I know for a fact that their coach doesn't coach any of them in AAU. I also believe that Ohio limits the number of players from the same school to 2 once they hit 12u. Jackson has several girls that play AAU but they are on different teams as i went and watched them last year a couple of times.

Re: Eastern 8th Grade Girls defeat Trimble 90-17

POLITICALLY CORRECT PRIORITY ALERT !!! No team shall be allowed to score over 50 points. Starters must wear blindfolds after halftime. No sub/reserve is allowed to make any effort to play offense/defense(stand and watch them shoot till they score, might take awhile). Make at least 10 passes so that ...

2010 SEOAL

Will anyone be able to stay with Gallia this season ? Young talent mixed with experience makes them look awesome from the outside. (GIRLS) Anything left in the jr high this season ? I think there was a couple of 7th graders in the top 10 at the league meet but it seemed most of the top group were 8t...

Re: My first 2010 mock draft

I will be shocked if the Rams keep that 1st pick. A team as sad as they've been the last several seasons needs to be looking to get some extra picks and a couple of free agents. However they are the Rams and the worst team for a reason lol

Alexander canceled on us yet again... I was really looking forward to the games as the 7th grade has surprised me with their improvement over the last couple of games and its always fun to watch the teamwork of that 8th grade squad !!!!

Re: 8th Girls Jackson over Chillicothe 80 to 3...... why?

I think you are slamming the wrong coach here. She prepares those girls to be the best they can be. They set goals and they work hard to acheive them. It is not her job to teach your girls to shoot or to play defense. Why should our girls have to play "down" to make it look better? They co...

Re: Have 10 year old who wants to run XC, but where?

If he is serious about running then you need to consider any local 5k races you can get to. It will teach him about the endurance part of the sport. If you talk to the coach, he might even allow him to "condition" with the others over the summer once it starts. It would be a good opportuni...

Re: Jackson Girls Basketball 7th and 8th

I'm afraid its going to take alot for that 7th grade bunch. Neither point guard seems to be putting it together as the season moves along. One fires shots from anywhere and continues to miss and the other just can't handle the pressure. The coach plays about 10 different girls at wing and none for m...

Re: Jackson Girls Basketball 7th and 8th

The 7th grade have not had alot of time together. The coach is plugging in players and trying to find the right mix. They made a change at point after the Logan game and are getting the ball up the court but they still seem hesitant to attack the basket and they need to stay at home on defense inste...

First i want to say congrats to Madison Holley for winning the MS league meet. I hope you can continue your success at the next level. Next i want to say congrats to the Jackson girls. Haley Dicus, Kaetlyn Sheets, and Kelsie Henderson all performed well at league. Haley moves up next year so best of...

Re: SEOAL runners

The course seemed a little tough in spots but i didn't really hear any complaints from the runners. The 2 girls races went pretty much as i expected but the boys surprised me a little. Great job by all the runners and thank you to Chilli for being a great host.

Re: 2009 SEOAL

With so many schools struggling to put together a roster of 5, maybe it is time to explore other options. Dropping it to four runners might be an option. Allowing middle school runners to compete in 4 or 5 meets on the varsity squad (invitationals/league meets only) could be another. I don't know wh...

Re: SEOAL runners

If the course is really as bad as it sounds i hope our coach tells them to shove it and just brings the kids home. Sounds like they're trying to take the talent factor out of the race and make their own "survivor"....

Re: Nelsonville-York Cross Country

For some schools, it's tough to find enough kids to even make up a team. Jackson is a perfect example of this. One of the bigger schools in the area and we cant field a team at any level. We have 4 jr high girls and 1 boy. At the varsity level we have 4 boys and 3 girls. It's a tough sport and it ge...

Re: SEOAL runners

Not really sure what you are basing that on because you can't really go by times unless the teams are running on the same courses. The SEOAL seems to have good runners at every level both boys and girls. Athens is the only TVC team that stands out (that i've watched) although the Vinton Co girls tea...
