Re: 2014 SVC

Huntington and Waverly had a very good scrimmage yesterday. Both got a lot out of it and Waverly was an awesome host. Looking forward to the matchup tonight with Jackson at Marshall's Dot Hicks Field!

Re: 2014 SVC

Huntington is at Wheelersburg tonight for a scrimmage (if the weather cooperates) and we are scrimmaging Jackson on Friday! Both should help us get ready for a VERY TOUGH 1st week of the season.

Re: Scimmage game question

If your assumption of the playing time is correct... yes, that would have to count as 2 scrimmages. however, if the game times are shortened to 45 minutes, you could still be within the 3 hour per day window.

Re: Scimmage game question

Sorry for failing to mention... This is a very good question and one that I am often asked about. At Huntington we hold an 8 team scrimmage each year and rotate teams through. No team plays more than 3 hours (each play 3 different teams 55 minutes each) as to not violate this rule, and thus only cou...

Re: Scimmage game question

Here is OHSAA regulation regarding scrimmages. There is no 3 consecutive hour rule here... you can only play for a maximum of 3 hours on any given DAY against any number of teams for it to count as only 1 scrimmage. Hopefully this answers your question Interscholastic Scrimmage 22.1) An interscholas...

Re: 2014 SVC

Great day for softball and several very competitive games... Although it was just the 1st scrimmage. Paint Valley looked really good and Newland is as good as advertised! Zane Trace struggled to hit it consistently, but still looked as good as expected. Huntington was missing our seniors (senior tri...

First scrimmage so everyone was still trying to put together their team. I will say that Paint Valley looked very good. Everyone else is what you would expect for this time of year.

Don't know what teams are scheduled this year, but we (Huntington) have it on our schedule for 2 games on March 29... Recently heard that Coach Branson at Piketon gave up the softball post so I hope this doesn't have an impact on the SVC/SOC Classic... was looking forward to some good match ups out ...

Re: SVC in postseason play

The SVC is now 20-6 in tournament play this season with 2 teams advancing to the elite 8 in their respective divisions. Congrats to both Adena and Unioto and best of luck on Saturday! Would be cool to see a DII and DIII representative from out league in the state tournament.
