I forgot to include this great "moment," maybe not one of the top games, but an inforgetable moment: 2001- Portsmouth West- West jumps out to an early lead and Wheelersburg starts making a comeback. There is a questionable block/charge call that goes against West. Scott Jenkins (then HC at...

Barrick needs to wise up, the guys he is playing no way near getting the job done, the starters are really bad shoots, except Drew on some nights. I will say a 12-8 season is on the horizon and that could be a stretch. But there is always next year, but wait it will be worse next year. burgtown, wo...

I said at the beginning of the season that this was the worse shooting team the burg has had in years. They hussle, they defend, but they can't shoot. Part of the trouble is the inside men don't use the back board for close in shots, I'm really surprised that the coaching staff has let it go on thi...

Should be a great game. Wheelersburg's defense is just been unbelievable all season (especially since the Huntington game).

I'll say:

Wheelersburg 65
Northwest 41

Question for fellow poster, bucknut 23, what is your prediciton for the game? :-D

Congrats to the Wheelersburg Pirates and Coach Dusty Spradlin, very deserving of the #1 seed. I haven't seen much talk about the Lady Pirates, but they are doing a great job of just taking care of business each night out. I really believe they can make a lot of noise come tourney time.

how many Oak Hill games have you been to this year? I got at the one @ Oak Hill at 5:45 and plenty of seats on the Oak Hill side and away side Yeah, but the game is at Wheelersburg and it is Homecoming. I can see the non-reserved seats being full before the JV game starts. This is usual for big gam...

This will be a big conference game Friday night, but it will mean a lot less, conference wise, to the Pirates if they forget about the Falcons on Tuesday night. I look for Wheelersburg to stay focused and play two great games this week.

I hope the Pirates leave SW with a victory (always a tough place to play), but Wheelersburg should stay focused on Valley, which they travel to on Tuesday night.

Which of Peebles' losses to league teams were not league games? They are 3-2 in the SHL...but have lost to Manchester twice, North Adams, Whiteoak....and I thought someone else...but guess not. Still have to face Ripley, @ Whiteoak, and Lynchburg Clay Who was it Fayetteville beat? Peebles has also ...

Greatest Games AT Wheelersburg

I decided to do sort of a spinoff of the thread I started earlier today. With the current Wheelersburg gym closing down after this season and alread a thread on the greatest players, how about the great games that have occured in this great gym. It would be great to hear some stories/opinions about ...

A lot of great players down through the years for Wheelersburg......almost impossible to pick the greatest that I've seen, but the most dramatic moment in the regular season between PHS and the Burg was Andrew Burleson's dunk with 5 seconds to go to give the Pirates a 52-51 win at WHS in 2002. I ag...

Your All-Time Wheelersburg Pirates Team

With this being the last season in the current high school/gym that Wheelersburg has called home for over 50 years, I thought this would a good time to discuss the all-time Wheelersburg team. You can choose from all-time or pick a certain time period to cover. I did not move to Wheelersburg until 19...

Portsmouth also has a game vs. Athens the night before the Burg game. So both teams will be playing Friday-Saturday. As far as the state tournament teams reunion, does anyone have any details on how WHS is going to handle this? Is it going to be done before the varsity game? Will there be a special...

burg needs a wake up call and i think 2 straight losses might be the wake up call. if they are not careful they might not only not win the soc but they may not even get to the convo. i hope i'm wrong though Sometimes I think the fans in Wheelersburg need a wake up call. They played two very tough g...
