Another bonanza year for NEO. Seven geographic teams from NEO played in 6 of the 7 state championship games winning half the titles they played for. Hoban, Chardon and Kirtland State Champs. Runners up from Springfield, Massillon, Warren JFK, and Mentor Lake Catholic. Congrats guys !

No question Ironton and it wasn’t even close. Sloppy, overweight linemen, no speed and no skill. A mercy rule game that questioned why they were in the state final. Served once again to question why ,after they muscle weak SEO teams, should they be in the playoffs at that level ? Over rated as usual.

Years ago ,before Tiger showed up, many players , because of location would end up playing at Cleveland Benediction, VASJ or Mentor Lake Catholic. No more.

As I said earlier, defend Hollobaugh and KFK can be had. NB did and gave them an arse kicking. Congrats to NB.

The pick here is Springfield. FF should match up o.k. But they have not had to defense a dual threat QB with the talents of Brungard. Close game goes to Springfield, but if FF can’t defense Brungard, it will be a romp.

The key to JFK is Hollobaugh, the QB. You should defend his run first. Not a great passer and they throw little. Stop him and JFK can be had. NB is solid and I’d rate them as the favorite. This potentially is the best match up in the state finals.

Kirtland is the pick. Around 28-7.

I like Springfield in this game. Cadets are in over their heads against Brungard, who is a machine. World of difference in schedules too. Cadets are 3 scores underdogs.

Not much has changed for me. The last 3 games the Chiefs played losing programs and some were really bad. The early season they played no one overwhelming. Some good teams, yes, but not powerhouses. Many were smaller division teams and most were .500 teams. The bottom line - the program isn’t going ...
