Re: Portsmouth West Lady Senators
West has hired Doran Martin, most recently an women's assistant coach at Georgetown College. Looking forward to this, I read where he also has a background in exercise science where he was a strength coach at ssu.

Re: New Paint Valley Boys Coach
Smith did a good job at Adena, he was pretty involved with the entire program which lead to some good things. Solid hire by Paint Valley here.

I'd imagine they would possibly look at McKnight or the guy who is an assistant at Centerville.

I don't know if I'd call running flex vs a 2-3 zone and only having one baseline out of bounds play doing a great job.

That is what I mean, they were still that connected to it, they were aware of the opening.transplant wrote: Mon May 21, 2018 8:05 am well, neither applicant was/is a current assistant, so who knows. Both did graduate from Valley, but that's the only connection they have to the program currently.

They might of only wanted true "Valley" guys and/or those well connected to the program.transplant wrote: Mon May 21, 2018 7:10 am I heard yesterday that the Lucasville Valley job is open. Also only heard 2 names applied, but hard to get applicants when no one knows its open.

(#9) Portsmouth West vs. (#1) Piketon - 2-23 Sectional Final(Waverly) 6pm.
I am really looking forward to this game, I know it's a challenge for the siders, but hoping Coach Hafer and the boys come out and have a puncher's chance going into the 2nd half. Need big games from Maynard and the seniors again.

I would be surprised if Jenkins is interested, but Bradford, I am not sure. I always see him hanging around in various gyms, so I think he certainly does miss it.

Re: WEST BASKETBALL
I think this hire gives West Basketball a chance to have some long term stability from a true basketball minded person. Coach Hafer, if they let him be, will bring basketball to the front of the table for many athletes at West. I do not think he will top Bradford in terms of pure raw coaching talent...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
I think usually this works out where I can watch the D3 sectionals on one night and then these games on a separate night. I hope the schedule and dates are the same this year. This will be a dandy.
